2 WCVA s Explore Internship Programme Hello, Thank you for your interest in the WCVA s Explore Internship Programme. The aim of the Explore Internship Programme is to place Interns into an organisation to provide an enjoyable, meaningful experience which enhances your employability, your skills and your understanding of the Third Sector. It will also provide you with some practical experience to add value to your CV. If you wish to apply for any of our internships, an application form and equal opportunity form can be found on WCVA s website: or by ing: help@wcva.org.uk. You only need to complete the one application form, even if you are applying for more than one Internship. Completed applications should be sent to Anneka Bisi: abisi@wcva.org.uk along with an equal opportunity form and a copy of your CV. The majority of our placements within the Explore Internship Programme are unpaid unless stated otherwise, however travel expenses will be paid in all cases. I look forward to hearing from you! Best wishes, Anneka Internship Programme Administrator Back to Contents page 2

3 FAQ s Do I have time for an Internship? All our placements are part-time and therefore designed to fit alongside your studies or work commitments. The organisations are usually flexible, and will be happy to fit in with the time you have available; this could be anything from an afternoon up to a few days a week. Why do an Internship? Employers are looking for experience as well as qualifications; it can be difficult to get experience! Organisations within this programme understand you may not have experience, but you do have specialist knowledge which would be an asset to their organisation. How many Internships can I apply to? We recommend applying to no more than four Internships at a time. Internships are available on a first come first served basis and therefore it is worthwhile applying as soon as you can to give yourself the best chance of securing an Internship of your choice. What if I am not sure whether the Internship will suit me? You can always have a chat on the phone with the organisation to find out more before applying. Get in touch with us and I will give you the details of the recruiting manager! Are the Internships paid? Most of the placements in the programme pay travel expenses only. From time to time we have internships which are paid and these will be clearly shown. What do I do now? Have a look through the catalogue; consider placements which utilise your knowledge and skills which would give you an opportunity to practice them. How do I apply? You can download an application form by going to: and clicking on the for individuals tab on the left. Send completed application form to: abisi@wcva.org.uk along with an equal opportunity form and your CV. If the organisation likes your application, they will invite you to an informal interview. Can I have the catalogue in another format? Yes, if you are partially sighted or blind and you require the catalogue in an alternative format, please let us know. Contact Us: Anneka Bisi, Internship Programme Administrator abisi@wcva.org.uk
