3 It has been a really hot summer, hopefully you are finding ways to stay cool. Thanks to all of you who support our Gift Gallery and a big THANKS to the Gift Gallery volunteers who assist our customers! The Gift Gallery has been busy with the CHRISTMAS IN JULY sale that will continue through July 31st. Please stop in and check out all the wonderful items. Included in the sale are stuffed animals, toys, fashions, jewelry, lotions, Jim Shore figurines and many other items.
4 The Swedish Monday Morning Stitchers Lorraine Givens & Norma Leach Co-Chairs The Swedish Volunteer Stitchers have been busy as usual. The Sewing committee has received and distributed many comfort items to the various units of the hospital as gifts to the patients and their families to hopefully brighten their stay at Swedish Medical Center. We have gotten many baby items: Blankets, afghans, hats, stuffed toys, stuffed bears and special pillowcases for use with the premature and smallest of newborns. For the young at heart we have received and made lap robes, various sized pillows for different uses. Also, neck pillows, scarves/shawls, chemo hats, and adult bibs for those in rehab and treatment situations. These are just some of the types of items that we receive or make. We are constantly on the lookout for more things that will provide comfort to all of our patients. Many thanks to all of those that have donated items and those that work on the projects in the volunteer conference room on Monday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to noon. We invite any of you that would like to join us to come and visit and see what we do. We would be delighted to have more hands to help with these projects and new ideas as they present themselves. We enjoy sharing ideas and conversation as well! If you would just like to join us to talk and share the fun of stitching or crafts, you are welcome to come and work on your own projects during this time too.
