4 Welcome from the Principal and PTA President Dear Murwood Families, Thank you for joining us tonight at Murwood s Auction for Education event, Tradition of Excellence. Our sports theme fits right in with our work to be an inclusive, welcoming community of good sports. This annual dinner, dance, and auction serves so many functions, the most important being the ongoing support of programs that serve all our students. This year s Auction Team has outdone previous efforts to plan, coordinate, and execute a fun-filled evening, complete with auction items sure to capture your fancy. There are parties, events, tickets, and fabulous get-aways to give you that much needed relaxation time. Most importantly, there are works of art created by your child and their classmates that capture this unique moment in time. Each year, there is an opportunity to support a specific item that will add value to the classrooms, the students experiences, and the school overall through Fund-A- Need. This year, we are asking you to support our very successful Arts for All program. We have celebrated world culture through storytelling, drama, song and dance this year as a community. The reaction has been so overwhelmingly positive in the rewards of building community that we have been asked to do this program a second year. We hope you will support our community in celebrating our diversity, which we believe to be the strength in our fabric. Thanks and appreciation is due to our Auction Committee for their tireless efforts on all our behalf. Thanks, too, to our dedicated PTA, to all who donated items, to our teachers for their participation in classroom gifts and attendance, and to our wonderful front office staff for their help with the invitations. Murwood is a wonderful community. Thank you for taking part in this special event, for contributing to our school s success and for raising much needed funds! 5 Welcome to the 2017 Auction for Education On behalf of the auction coordinators, we would like to welcome you to the 2017 Auction for Education: TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE! The money raised tonight will be used to enrich the learning experience for all Murwood students through PTA supported programs. This event is not possible without the generosity of our Murwood donors and our wonderful local business community. We all understand the importance of doing what we can to improve our children s educational journey, now more than ever. Thank you so very much for your support! We have had the privilege of working with a few amazing individuals that have really committed to this evening s event. We may have been small, but we are a dedicated bunch. It is through the hard work and dedication of this group that the evening creates success. We would like to take this opportunity to thank those who went out of their way to get the job done. Special acknowledgment needs to go out to Dawn Greenaway for hosting our auction meetings. Special thanks to Lyn Hirahara, Michelle Meyers, and Heather Houston for all of the time they spent procuring many of the amazing donations that we have in our auction. Thank you also to Danielle Scheg, Jamie O Reilly, Nina Voss and Renee Hiles for all of your efforts too. An additional thank you goes out to Dana Neitz for the coordination of the Wine Toss as well as for the many donations she brought in, and to Andrea Slavet for gathering all of the amazing dessert donations. Thanks to Lisa Schmitt for your wonderful pictures of our children and to Dave Mason for the slide show that helps us remember why we re doing this; and all the room volunteers for taking on the task of getting projects from the kids finished and putting baskets together. Finally, thanks to Keith Fox for being our auctioneer this evening, and a special shout out to our former Murwood dad who has once again agreed to entertain us: our groovy tune-spinning, Dave Schnittker. Thank you to those volunteering this evening and to the many people who were instrumental in making this event a success. Without their time and effort the event would not be what it is. On behalf of all of us, we thank you for attending Murwood s Tradition of Excellence. 6 2017 Auction for Education Protocol Check-In & Payment Registration will begin at 6:00 pm. Be ready to give either your Visa or MasterCard credit card information or a signed check payable to Murwood PTA when you register. A 3.5% processing fee will automatically be added to your invoice should you pay by credit card. All payment information will be kept secure. Silent Auction The Silent Auction opens at 6:00 pm and closes according to the schedule. The minimum bid and minimum raise is printed on the bid sheet. Valid bids must comply with these minimums and be legible. To place a bid, write your bid number on the bid sheet. Doing so constitutes a legal contract to purchase that silent auction item at the price stated if your bid is the winning bid. The last (highest) valid bid entered prior to the section closing will be the winning bid. Please respect the volunteer Table Closers by letting them remove the bid sheets in a timely manner. The Auction Team reserves the right to extend the Silent Auction closing times or to move the Silent Auction items to the Live Auction, should the bids warrant. Do not remove the bid sheets from the tables. Live Auction Live Auction bidding will begin after dinner. When bidding, hold up your bid number toward the auctioneer. A bid acknowledged by the auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item. Do not bid unless you wish to purchase the item. If a group is bidding on an item together, designate one person to place your combined bid. If you wish to split the cost of the item between bid numbers, fill out the Split the Bill card available on each table. Pick-Up Please pick-up all auction items that you have won prior to leaving the event. Tags will be placed on each item indicating the winner. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to remove his/her winning items at the end of the auction. Receipts and gift certificates may be picked-up at Murwood on Thursday, March 30 th, from 8:00 9:00 a.m. and from 1:30 3:00 p.m. Alternate arrangements may be made by contacting Amy Mason at astar302@hotmail.com. Terms of Sale All sales are final. All items are offered and sold AS IS. There will be no exchanges or refunds. The Murwood PTA has attempted to describe all items correctly. All items and services are subject to the terms and conditions specified by the donors. Reservations for trips and vacation accommodations must be mutually arranged with the donor. All expiration dates of less than one year are noted in the auction program. 5

Please note: Bottles can be collected from the silent auction area after the live auction event. Bottles may only be removed prior by showing a payment to the bar to cover the corkage fee. There is a $15.00 corkage fee at The Clubhouse at Boundary Oaks. 7
