3 Introduction There have been increases to the ACC Subsidy prices from 1 st April 2008 for Rural Primary Healthcare and Physiotherapy EPN Contract Classes. This update will provide user with the new subsidy prices for the Contract Classes with an effective date of 1 st April Pre Requisites Please review the following prerequisites and ensure they are met prior to installation; MedTech32 Version 14 or above must be installed Copyright MedTech Limited Page 3 of 6
4 Medtech32 Update Installation 1. Ensure that you are running Medtech32 Version 14 or above. This can be checked by logging into Medtech32 and selecting Help About Medtech32 (see pre requisites above). 2. Visit our website at The website will automatically default to the New Zealand section of the website. If it does not click on the NZ button on the left hand side of the screen. 3. Select from the Main Menu, Products > MedTech32 > Downloads. The New Zealand MedTech32 Updates page will be displayed. 4. Here you will find the Acc Subsidy Increase 1 April 2008 (March 2008) 5. In the File Download Security Warning dialogue box select Run. 6. In the Open File Security Warning dialogue box select the Run option. 7. The update will then begin to install. 8. The update installation screen will appear. 9. The installation will now begin and the Upgrade.Sql will run to update the Acc Subsidy 10. 5 ACC Subsidy Increase Release Notes There have been increases to the ACC Subsidy prices from 1 st April 2008 for Rural Primary Healthcare and Physiotherapist EPN Contract Classes. This update will provide user with the new subsidy prices for the Contract Classes with an effective date of 1 st April Contract Class Rural Primary HealthCare Code Description Fee RP10 Skin and subcutaneous tissue or mucous membrane, repair of wound (not more than 7cm long) requiring skin closure by suture, clips, skin adhesive strips or glue RP11 Significant burns or abrasions (not including fractures) at multiple sites (>4cm); necessary wound cleaning, preparation and dressing RP12 Closure of open wound (or wounds) of skin and subcutaneous tissue or mucous membrane >7cm long; any necessary care and treatment including cleaning and debriding, exploration, administration of anaesthetic and dressing RP13 Shoulder treatment of dislocation of, requiring active reduction with IV or IM sedation and analgesia. Including splinting where necessary. (This item will generally involve radiological investigation) RP14 Elbow, treatment of dislocation of, requiring active reduction with IV or IM sedation and analgesia. Includes splinting where necessary. (This item will generally involve radiological investigation) RP15 Carpal fractures, including scaphoid, treatment of fracture of, not requiring reduction. RP16 Radius and/or ulna, distal end of, treatment of fracture of, by cast immobilisation. RP17 Radius and/or ulna, shaft of, treatment of fracture of, by cast immobilisation. RP18 Humerus, proximal or shaft of, treatment of fracture of, requiring cast immobilisation. RP19 Humerus, distal (supracondylar or condylar) or proximal radius and ulnar, treatment of fracture of. RP20 Tibia shaft and/or fibula, treatment of fracture by cast immobilisation RP21 Distal tibia and/or fibula, treatment of fracture of, not requiring reduction, includes immobilisation. RP22 Calcaneum or talus, treatment of fracture requiring cast immobilisation RP23 RP24 RP25 RP26 Tarsus, (including tarsal or metatarsals and excluding calcaneum or talus), treatment of fracture of, requiring cast immobilisation. Closed reduction of fracture or dislocation of proximal, middle or distal phalanx of hand, requiring injection of anaesthetic. Metacarpal(s), treatment of fracture by closed reduction-requiring injection of anaesthetic. Radius or ulna, distal end of, treatment of fracture by closed reduction. Requiring ischaemic limb block anaesthesia or other form of regional anaesthesia. (Generally proven radiologically) RP27 Ankle, Achilles' tendon rupture managed by non- operative treatment RP28 Nasal haemorrhage, arrest of during an episode of epistaxis by cauterisation or nasal cavity packing or both.
