5 Program information Statement of need Clinicians should be knowledgeable regarding new advances in ophthalmic imaging in order to best care for their patients, as indicated in countless scientific journal articles. They should be able to describe clinical applications of imaging technologies in ophthalmology, explain the importance of ophthalmic imaging and discuss imaging in glaucoma, retinal disease, corneal pathologies and neuro-ophthalmology. They should be using appropriate imaging technology to provide the best possible care to their patients, including early disease diagnosis and early detection of disease progression or improvement. Target audience The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of basic researchers, clinician-scientists, ophthalmologists, ophthalmology residents, optometrists, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, PhD candidates, medical students and research assistants/associates involved in the treatment of patients with eye and vision diseases and disorders.
