3 The Turkey Bomb Drop contest this past Sunday was a great success! We had ok weather sunny and a little on the cold side, but we had great turnout. Congrats to our winners: Jacob in the peg and tape category, Bob Larson in the mechanical category. Good job guys! Here's a few sot

4 To all, Just wanted to pass along a recap of our December schedule: Thursday December 6 th : December meeting at Moretti s Restaurant, 2475 W Higgins Rd, Hoffman Estates, IL This is our pizza party, and voting for 2019 club officers and 2018 member, instructor, and modeler awards. If you can t make the meeting, please vote. The ballot is attached. You cam mail them in per instructions on the ballot, or you can it back to me. The room will be available at 7:00. We will have a short meeting at 7:30. Pizza will be served at 8:00. All attendees will be asked for a $5.00 donation to help offset the cost of the pizza. All beverages will be the responsibility of the member. Hope to have a great turnout this year. Sunday December 9 th : Annual Food Drive, Chili Cook Off, and Penguin Fly. 8 2019 TriVillage Swap Shop Due to the date change by the DuPage County Fair Association and the related facility cost, it was decided to cancel the Swap Shop in 2019 at the Fair Grounds. The Risk / Reward analysis did not make sense. If any member can identify a facility that can handle our event at a reasonable cost, please forward that information to a Board Member, Paul Badalamenti, or Brian Eltherington

Bob Larsen 32 in attendance. Club Pattern Contest: Cancelled due to weather. Guests / New Members / Solos: James Tan completed his Solo. Monthly Contest Fly: Craig Knaak presented the results of the last club contest, along with the results for the entire Field Report: The field is in great shape. contest season. A very close competition took place between Forest Preserve Update: Subsequent to our participants. The results are posted in this months newsmeeting Bob Larsen met with a representative letter. Craig also agreed to remain as Contest for of the Cook County Forest Preserve. It was next year. Thank you Craig for a very well run Contest Season brought to his attention that on a few occasions and looking forward to next year. this summer, Forest Preserve employees were out at the flying field to do some work, and those employees were hassled by some of the people. He expressed his confidence that no one in the club would behave that way, but promised that he would get the word out to everyone that that kind of interaction was not acceptable. If Forest Preserve employees show up to do work at the field, please land immediately, and let them go about their business, with your full support. Discovery Night: Done for the year. Club Penguin Fly: Will begin with the Turkey Bomb Drop Contest in November. Warbirds and Classics: Done for the season. Safety: It was reported that a club member was flying a quad copter in the pit area. Please be informed that there is to be absolutely no flying of any form allowed in the pit area for the safety of everyone. Web Site: / Newsletter: Dave Harvey always needing new build photos. New Business The 2019 Swap Shop Will not take place. The club is looking for a new venue. Club Banquet : / Club Picnic : N/A. Safety Officer Field Marshal Ken Meyers Editor Dave Harvey Drone Update: Nothing to report. Food Drive: Scheduled for 12/9/18 Drone Policy: In order to develop a better Club Understanding of the rules governing the proper flying of Drones, the following presentations will be given at next month s club meeting: FAA Rules- Hans Becker AMA Rules- Dave Picek AMA Legislator Support: Senate approved the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 which rescinds Rule 336 and has other potential impacts on our hobby. The FAA was given 6 months to develop how they will implement the new act. In the mean time it is flying as usual under our current guidelines. Subsequently, the 400 flying restriction was removed as long as we are flying under AMA guidelines. NWRC Contest Day Change to Saturday: Scheduled for Saturday November 10th at 9:00 AM. Other Items: Hobby Town Schaumburg: Members encouraged to support them. The current FAA Pilot Registration has been extended to 12/20/2020 by the FAA, so if you are currently registered no renewals are required.. Club Membership Promotion: The Daily Herald editor has been contacted by Ed Goldin for a possible future Article. No response has been received. Poplar Creek Model Airplane Field

For Sale Items: Joe Trytek has 4,GForce 4S, 400 mahr LiPo batteries for sale that were subsequently bought by Dave Edson after the meeting. Thank You Dave! Raffle: $ was collected with the following winners: Joe Dziedzic $25.00, Dave Edson $75.00, Jim Esty $50.00 Adjournment: 8:22 PM The club Christmas Party is scheduled for 12/6 at Moretti s.
