Through our programs and services, these opportunities create a foundation for success. These are indeed challenging times, specially for those who face social, health and economic inequity. One critical issue facing our community is non-funded health services. Gaps in vital services create substantial disparities between First Nations and Saskatchewan citizens. FIRE, which represents fairness, integrity, respect and excellence, are the values that guide the creation of opportunities for First Nations, focusing primarily on youth. Building opportunity is dependent on the ability to work in collaboration with the seven STC communities, the City of Saskatoon, multiple school divisions, community organizations, private industry and governments to establish a multitude of programs and services that align with our four key strategic areas of education, health, safety, and economics. Our Members In addition to servicing First Nations living in Saskatoon, STC represents approximately 12,000 members of seven First Nations communities located within 250 km of Saskatoon. The member communities span three distinct First Nations cultures: Cree, Saulteaux and Dakota. STC also services First Nations citizens living in Saskatoon through an array of programs and services. The STC Treaty Assembly, a governing body comprised of the Chiefs and Councils strategically guide the organization while representing each community s distinct priorities.
