Your gift to the Annual Fund helps Rotary clubs take action today to create positive change in communities at home and around the world. Your contributions help us strengthen peace efforts, provide clean water and sanitation, support education, grow local economies, save mothers and children, and fight disease. The Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) initiative asks every Rotarian to support The Rotary Foundation every year. In addition to contributing to the Annual Fund on a regular basis, members are encouraged to get involved in a Foundation project or program. This can be accomplished online via My Rotary or just search for The Rotary Foundation and the "Give Now" box. A goal which many set for themselves is $100 per year. It may be more or it may be less. Let's try for 100% of our club to give something. At the end of every Rotary year, contributions directed to the Annual Fund-SHARE from all Rotary clubs in the district are divided between the World Fund and the District Designated Fund, or DDF. At the end of three years, your district can use the DDF to pay for Foundation, club, and district projects that your club and others in the district choose. Districts may use up to half of their DDF to fund district grants. The remaining DDF may be used for global grants or donated to PolioPlus, the Rotary Peace Centers, or another district. This amount is separate from the Polio Plus giving. A percentage of the Polio Plus money does not return to our district to be used as DDF. The DDF is used for our smaller projects as opposed to minimum $30,000 projects which are Global grants. Let's support our district so we can ask the district to support our projects!

2 The Bahamas is known for its beautiful sun, sand and sea experience, as this is one of the main attractions that both Bahamians and Tourist enjoy. In making a difference, on Saturday, October 7 th, 2017 the Rotarians of The Rotary Club of New Providence (RCNP) partnered with 100 Jamz and Impac Waste Disposal in a Community Beach Clean-up and Fellowship at Yamacraw Beach. RCNP s Rotaract and Interact Clubs also team up to assist in making the project a success. This event was covered by the National Television Station in The Bahamas ZNS Network. The Fellowship Chair of RCNP Past President William Wilson spoke with the media and informed them about Rotary and what RCNP is doing to help keep The Bahamas clean, green and pristine. Also, the number one listened to Radio Station in The Bahamas 100 Jamz was present and provided coverage. RCNP will continue to make a difference in doing its part to bring about environmental sustainability to ensure the next generation can have a place to enjoy, clean beaches while relaxing and having fun. All hands were on deck with the removal of trash such as bed mattresses, broken chairs, bottles, and other miscellaneous items. Rotarians cut and removed trees that had fallen due to hurricane winds.

3 With polio on the brink of eradication, nations from around the world and key donors pledged more than $1 billion to energize the global fight to end the paralyzing disease. On Saturday 21st October, 2017 the pulsating sounds of cowbells and goat skin drums echoed Bay Street as the Change Makers of RCNP partnered with Junkanoo World to help bring awareness to Polio. The initiative was geared at raising funds to support Rotary s efforts to eradicate Polio and to commemorate World Polio Day. Bahamians and Tourist got a chance to contribute while RCNP brought community awareness to the cause and to the fight against Polio.
