EVENTS CALENDAR 2 CLUB ROSTER 3 ANZAC CENTENARY COMMEMORATIVE DINNER 4 MR ECHIDNA & PHOTOS 5 & 6 Welcome to this weeks edition of the SignPost Presidents Report: At the last meeting we were very fortunate to have Rod Case Editor Bendigo Advertiser to the meeting as guest speaker. Rod spoke of the daily challenges of providing news to the public in a very IT literate age. His presentation and the discussion/questions afterwards were very thought provoking. As we all wrestle with IT, public expectations and relevance that is rapidly changing. Thank you to those members who volunteered to help with the Camp Getaway kitchen construction this week. It will be a great facility when completed. The ANZAC remembrance dinner is rapidly approaching, anyone who has not responded please do so. It looks like it is going to be a really good night and with a lot of fellowship/activity. Members can bring guests and memorabilia for display and discussion. We are also going to have ANZAC biscuits with the tea and coffee, and afterwards there will be further fellowship at the bar. It is suggested that the Club could undertake the following Social Programme for the remainder of the Rotary year: DIRECTORY 7 Thursday April 23rd - *Drink Fellowship* (after the ANZAC Remembrance Dinner) at the Foundry Sunday April 26th - *Tour of Bendigo Art Gallery*, Ned Kelly Exhibition and Afternoon Tea. Tickets 2 for 1 - Cost $12 plus afternoon tea. Sunday May 24th - *Wine Tour - Lunch at Belgowie Winery* ($25 - $30 per head) and also Connor Park Winery for Wine Tasting on a Sunday in June (date to be confirmed) *Tour of the Shamrock Hotel* including Devonshire afternoon tea on the balcony. Cost $10. Can members take note of these dates, and there will be an attendance sheet circulated at the next meeting. The purpose of these activities is to enhance social fellowship outside the meetings as indicated through the members survey. See you next Thursday. 4 ANZAC CENTENARY COMMEMORATIVE DINNER Following consultation between President Rod, and the Board, it has been agreed that the Club meeting on 23 rd April, 2015 will take the form of the ANZAC commemorative dinner. We will be commemorating the service and sacrifice of the Men and Women of the Australian Defence Forces over a century of wars and conflict. This is a special time. It is 100 years since the landings at ANZAC Cove during World War One. This is primarily a meeting for Club members and partners. However, if members have any adult member of the family, or close friend they wish to invite to the Commemorative dinner, please advise either Steven Lee on or Tom Glazebrook on or Ros Chenery on , so that the appropriate information can be forwarded to them. Your invitation will be accompanied with some relevant information explaining the purpose of the Dining-Out and the procedures which are followed at the Dinner. Members will receive a briefing of the Dinner procedures at the club meeting on 16 th April.
