Every week in Northern Ireland another 3 families will be told that their child has cancer. Cancer Fund for Children understands the devastating impact this cancer diagnosis can have on the whole family and that beyond essential medical care there is a family life that needs to be rebuilt. Cancer Fund for Children s team of Specialists are here to listen and help families cope through a range of financial and therapeutic support services delivered throughout Northern Ireland. 3 HOW CAN HELP By taking part in Funsie in a Onesie you will help Cash for Kids support children and young people who are living with cancer by sending them on an Everyday Heroes residential in Narnia, Cancer Fund for Children s Log Cabin. While there, they will get to take part in activities which challenge them to overcome their fears, build self-confidence and meet others going through similar experiences. What the young people have to say Narnia, Cancer Fund for Children s Log Cabin This weekend was better than I ever expected. I now understand I don t have to bottle up emotions about cancer. The weekend made me see that sometimes the little things in life are the most important. I feel I have grown as a person this weekend. 16 year old boy Best residential yet, greatest of all time and I don t want to go home. 4 YOUR STEP BY STEP GUIDE Get comfy at the office or be cosy at school by getting sponsored to wear your onesie for the day! Don t worry if onesies aren t your thing or you don t have one, you can still join in the fun by wearing your cool PJ s, snazzy slippers or by sponsoring someone to wear theirs for the day! Step 1 Choose your date Pick a date between 19th & 23rd October. Why not have a Wonderful Onesie Wednesday on 21st October! Step 2 Start Fundraising A sponsorship form is at the back of this booklet. Why not sponsor your boss or teacher to wear a wacky onesie for the day! You could also hold a onesie tea party, quiz, football match, cake sale or dinner! Whatever you do, have lots of FUNsie in your onesie! The crazier the better! Step 3 Tell the world Photocopy the enclosed Funsie in Onesie poster and pop it on noticeboards around your school or workplace.
