1 GFWC Woman s Club of Westminster, Inc. June 2010 A MESSAGE FROM CAROL Dear Friends, I am sending to you the list of Community Service groups as I have assembled them, using the interest questionnaires you completed. I have taken the liberty of assigning some of you to your second choice selection in order to keep the groups roughly equal in number. In some cases, I made assignments based on current committee assignments, (when I had been unsuccessful in reaching some of you.) If anyone is REALLY unhappy with her assigned group, please feel free to contact me; obviously these groupings aren t set in stone. This information will also be in the new yearbooks when they are distributed in the fall as we start our new program year. During June and July, as I have previously mentioned, we will have planning meetings for each group. An Executive Committee member will attend each of the sessions. These sessions will orient everyone to the new organizational guidelines issued by GFWC and permit everyone to select the particular projects your group will pursue during the coming two years. You will be notified when your group is meeting, and I hope you will make your best effort to attend. We are looking forward to an exciting time that will involve some special acknowledgments and celebrations of our 100th year, and it is important to include your ideas. The new program groups will begin on August 1,2010. I ask that each current chairperson prepare a report for the incoming chairperson that includes activities, volunteer hours, and dollars donated from each department for the period January 1, 2010 through August 1, This will facilitate reporting next March for the incoming cochairs. Thank you to each of you who have volunteered to co-chair or chair committees. Here s looking to a fun and fulfilling two years together.
