The basketballs were displayed on the wall outside the gym. Pink Out T-shirts Shirt orders were sent out on January 10th to Cushing and New Summerfield students and community members. The response was overwhelming. The shirts were ordered and then distributed. On Pink Out Day which was January 24th, the students, teachers, and staff wore their shirts to school and that night Cushing and New Summerfield individuals wore shirts to the basketball game. Everywhere you looked in the stands you could see pink. FCA Breakfast Breakfast was served to FCA students on Tuesday morning which was sponsored by McKnight Church. The students enjoyed pancakes and Christian fellowship. Cancer Victims Recognized After Varsity Girls Game Cancer victims were asked to stand and they were recognized and presented a pink rose. Paper Airplane Contest At the basketball game, paper was sold for $1 to make paper airplanes. Each participant made an airplane and put their name on it. They quickly activated our StuCo phone tree and Facebook page asking everyone to help. A time and location was set where donations would be collected. Between 4:00 and 6:00 pm StuCo members were at the high school to accept donations of cash, food, clothing and furniture for the family. Word spread quickly and three local television stations came to interview those who organized this event. It was a huge success. The week before October, we brought over 300 bandanas and ripped them up into strips about an 1'' thick. Then we grabed 3 different colors which were orange, pink, and white.then, taped one of the ends and started to braid the bandanas together. After that we tied the ends together, which later formed a braclete around your wrist. Finally, we sold them at the football game the week before October for a donation of two dollars or more. Instantly, we sold out before the 3 rd quarter. The final total of the sale was over a little over $3000. The sale was 100% non-profitable.
