2 WHAT/WHEN/WHERE Autism Speaks 7 th Annual Chefs Gala will be held on Wednesday, April 25 th at the Four Seasons Hotel (999 North Second Street) in Downtown St. Louis. The evening will begin at 6:30 PM with cocktails and a silent auction on the 8 th floor of the Four Seasons. Next, guests will move to the ballroom to experience a culinary tasting buffet prepared by almost 20 of St. Louis most renowned chefs at 7:30 PM, followed by a program with live auction including exclusive custom-created packages to bid. WHO IS ATTENDING More than 300 guests are expected to attend, representing St. Louis most affluent consumers, philanthropists, corporate sponsors, and business leaders. WHY SUPPORT Today, the Center for Disease Control reports 1 in 68 children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, significantly affecting families, schools, and the community at large. Research is crucial. Every 11 minutes another child is diagnosed with autism, costing families, on average, $60,000 per year. Autism Speaks is dedicated to advancing research into causes and better treatments for autism spectrum disorder, increasing understanding and acceptance, and working toward solutions for the needs of individuals with autism and their families across the spectrum and lifespan through advocacy and support.
