New members recruitment 1. This year we had the opportunity to meet new people with all the capacities and attitude to enroll a chapter member. We gave a warm welcome to our new members: David Suárez, Camilo Moreno and Iván Pulido.

2. Andrea Pacheco Grant Our president Andrea, was the one who received the München travel grant for officers. She shared with other SPIE members in the Leadership Meeting. Also, attended to the Optical Metrology Conference.

3. Jose Gómez Grant Even this was not a Chapter Grant, we are proud of our Treasurer Jose Gómez. He traveled to San Diego on August and participated in Optics and Photonics with the grant SPIE gave him.

4. Youth Education: We are working on a special project with an orphans foundation. We are building a match in which they learn as they play. Also, we are planning to have gifts for the children and different activities with optics; for example: glasses, soap bubbles, Wonder turners. We made a special Kaleidoscope with cheap materials. This is the first step of our project. In the photos you can see how all of our members are part of it, creating and designing all the activities. For next year, we want to make kits with our prototypes, one for each child. And of course, make our trip to La Mesa, a small town near our city where they live, to share with them.

5. Sharing Time: We received our laser chess this year. So, was fun to learn how to use it. We are planning to have a small championship in our student chapter next year. 6. National Meeting in Optics- Medellin-Colombia. On November most of our members travel to Medellin, there was developed the National Meeting in Optics. Laura Melgarejo, one of our members won the third place in the posters competition. Furthermore, we had the opportunity to share with members of other chapters from other cities in Colombia: Cali, Medellin and Pamplona. It was a great time, we started our plan to have the first IONS in Latinoamerica, here in Colombia. Also, we had time to spare, beers were included.

7. Motivational Talk A High school in Bogota were our host. Some of our members went to talk to those teenagers about science; we presented some experiments and made small talks in which we showed them our experience with optics and physics in general. Here are some pictures and the letter we received from the school.

8. Promotion Our last activity was an exposition we made in The National Observatory, we see in those students potential members for our group. Therefore, we made an exposition of our student chapter and all the advantage they could have if they join us. The slides our president and vicepresident used are following:
