It s also the proof of competence for acceptance by AHJ s as Firestop Inspectors and IAS AC-291 Responsible Persons. The group has been studying Membrane Penetrations, along with many other physical characteristics of firestop products used in firestop systems. Hear from UL s Luke Woods about these developments. 10:45 am 11:45 pm Tall Wood Buildings (TWB) & Cross-Laminated Timber Structures Stephen DiGiovanni, P.E., Chair, ICC Adhoc TWB Committee 9:45 am 3:00 pm The Complete Austin Experience Guest Tour Pre-registration required The International Code Council (ICC), through its Adhoc Tall Wood Buildings (TWB) Committee, studied tall wood timber buildings for addition to the International Building and Fire Codes. Listen and you ll hear about the path to acceptance in the US, committee work to prepare ICC Proposals and scientific studies for the code proposal justification. The standing motion at ICC is to Approve the TWB s work. That means a TWB can be 18 stories. Fire-resistance and firestopping will play a critical part of this new high-rise building technology. Michael s Committee inserted the need for a fire-resistance Inventory in the 2018 International Fire Code.
