2 ABOUT OSAP The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) is a global organization dedicated exclusively to ensuring The Safest Dental Visit through infection control and prevention and patient and provider safety resources. OSAP is comprised of two separate but linked organizations, an Association and a Foundation. 3 ABOUT THE OSAP COMMUNITY The OSAP membership community continues to grow! Currently, OSAP engages over 2,300 members from approximately 1,000 dental practices, education institutions, companies and nonprofit organizations (noncorporate partner members). OSAP membership also includes over 1,100 representatives from 55 Corporate Members and Super Sponsors. SELECT HIGHLIGHTS OF FY Over 20,000 webpage visits per month from 137 countries/territories. 15,700 impressions on Twitter and over 24,000 Facebook users reached per month, a 300% increase over 2017 Growing attendance at OSAP s in-person education events In collaboration with the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) and the Dental Auxiliary Learning and Education Foundation (the DALE Foundation), a professional certification program will be launched in early The initiative has established a standardized dental infection control educational program (OSAP-DALE Foundation Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate Program ), with future plans to develop additional professional certification programs, one with a clinical focus and one with an industry (dental trade) focus. These collaborative initiatives advance the organizations missions of enhancing patient and practitioner safety. Led annual observance of Dental Infection Control Awareness Month, garnering support from national agencies including CDC and the US Air Force, dental associations, the dental educational community and dental press, and companies and continues to grow in reach and influence. Record breaking attendance at the 2018 Annual Conference and Dental Infection Control Boot CampTM with participation and representation from CDC, OSHA, FDA and global leaders in infection prevention and control and safety. Launched the Jornal of Dental Infection Control and Safety which included OSAP s white paper on Dental Unit Water lines. This critical article article provides clinical insight into enhancing patient safety and reducing risk for water units and has over 1,000 views with 225 pdf downloads.
