2 Preventive Orthodontics, the common place parts of your everyday practice, is the focus of this program. The overall health of your patients is the goal of your pediatric practice. Preventive Orthodontics is a necessary part of that goal. What parts of the developing malocclusion can and should be corrected in order to prevent abnormal growth and alleviate abnormal positions of the teeth? Here is your chance to come face to face with a practicing Orthodontist and Pediatric Specialists who incorporate Orthodontics into their daily practices. Join the discussions with your questions and comments. Spend the cocktail party, breakfasts, lunch and breaks with the speakers. SWSPD, in conjunction with Rocky Mountain Orthodontics (RMO) brings you this program as part of our continuing education commitment. Participants who want to try the Wilson 3D QH system must bring the following ortho pliers to the meeting: 1 or 2 Weingardt 1 wire cutter 1 three jaw Dr. Oppermann received his Masters degree in orthodontics in 2003 from SL Mandic Dental Research School in Campinas, Brazil. He worked as an associate professor at the Associação dos Cirurgiões-Dentistas de Campinas and SL Mandic Dental Research School, Brazil. Dr. Oppermann is a guest lecturer at the University of Illinois and has lectured around the world on many orthodontic topics. He has a private orthodontic clinic and is also a clinical instructor of orthodontics at the Association of Dental Surgeons of Campinas (ACDC). Dr. Oppermann is a member of the AAO and the WFO. Treatment Methods for the different types of Class III Malocclusions 2 CEUs Dr. Miranda holds both DDS and MS degrees from Baylor University and graduated from University of Missouri Kansas City with a specialty in pediatric dentistry. In 1980, he founded POGO Seminars to help pediatric and general dentists manage developing occlusions in growing children. Dr. Miranda taught both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics at Baylor University until He has lectured internationally and continues his educational focus with dentists in Early Orthodontic Therapy and limited Complete Orthodontic Therapy. In addition, Dr. Miranda also earned an MS in Biology, has conducted post graduate research in Physiology and holds a PhD in Education. Airway Assessment and Management from the Pediatric Dentist Perspective 2 CEUs Jeffrey D. Rhodes, DDS Narrow arches, runny noses, grinding teeth, ADD. Do these commonly seen childhood issues have anything in common? This course will describe how to evaluate airways in developing children, when to treat and when to refer. We will also discuss some of the medical complications associated with disrupted breathing patterns and how to interact with your local ENTs. Dr. Rhodes is a 1984 graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas. He graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1988, and completed specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry in His special interests lie in growth and development. He has completed fellowships at Scottish Rite Hospital for Crippled Children, Children s Medical Center of Dallas and teaching fellowship at Baylor College of Dentistry. He is a member of various dental associations and a Diplomate of American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Rhodes is a past president of the SouthWestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
