Activities DVDs Leaflets and posters Teaching packs Visual prompts If you work in Wirral, you can register with the Centre and loan resources for FREE by calling Health Promotion Resource Centre, lower ground floor, St Catherine's Health Centre,,, CH42 0LQ The Livewell Programme Health Trainer Free lifestyle assessments with a health trainer to assess what support people will benefit from, providing: personalised health action plans, with realistic goals information on how to get involved in a range of local health and wellbeing activities motivation and encouragement Stop Smoking We provide: up to 12 weeks motivational support and advice for smokers who are ready and willing to quit nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) vouchers, if necessary (prescription charges may apply) liaison with GPs for Zyban or Champix brief intervention and intermediate training courses to equip community staff to provide stop smoking support Smokers can also self-refer by texting Quit with their name and postcode to Physical activity Wide range of physical activities catering for all levels of health and fitness, encouraging local people to get more active, including: chair aerobics circuit sessions men only football fitness walking and cycling groups Mental wellbeing Group based activities for people with low-confidence/self-esteem, anxiety or mild depression. These include: Allotment project learning to grow a variety of plants, meeting new people, relaxing, and connecting with nature Creative sessions - helping people relax and feel good through art and craft Relaxation sessions learning a variety of skills to unwind and switch off Tai Chi and Chi-Kung - Combines gentle stretching, mobility, coordination and breathing exercises with mindfulness. The teams are also trained to appropriately signpost people to other mental health and wellbeing services where necessary. 10
