1 BENEVOLENT AND PROTECTIVE ORDER OF ELKS FEBRUARY, 2012 PROVO, UTAH VOLUME 65, ISSUE 9 EXALTED RULERS MESSAGE:. It is February and the Lodge year is ending on March 31st. It has gone quickly with many accomplishments by our lodge. Your hard work truly demonstrate Elks care Elks Share. Since April 2011 we have had several new members. We need to get these new members to lodge meetings and functions. If you sponsored a new member ask them to attend a meeting with you, invite them to the lodge on a Friday night for dinner or any activity or function and introduce them to your fellow Elks. We need to make these new members feel welcome as well as continue to grow our current membership. The last few months have been successful for the lodge with numerous functions. However, a few months does not support the lodge for an entire year. If you have a birthday party, anniversary, graduation party, wedding reception or just a get together for friends and family use the lodge, it will benefit all of our members in the long run. Along this line, I would like to encourage all of you to volunteer at the lodge. Volunteering not only helps our lodge, but it also brings a sense of accomplishment to all involved. You do not have to limit yourself to a large project, there are many smaller projects we need help with at the lodge. During February and March, we have important work to do to prepare for the coming year. We will be electing officers, setting up our budget and identifying activities and action plans to keep our lodge alive. As a member it is your right and responsibility to have input on what decisions are being made by the trustees and house committee. I need every one of you to attend lodge meetings so you are informed on decisions being made and have an opportunity to voice your opinion and your vote. The Super Bowl Party will be held on Sunday, February 5th. If you have not already planned on attending, please reconsider. February 7th is PER Night. This is when our Past Exalted Rulers step into the Chairs to conduct the meeting. All are invited to attend, with a special invitation to our PER s, this is your night Nominations of Officers will take place this night at the Lodge meeting. Some food will be provided at no cost so come hungry. February 11th is the. Sweethearts Ball. Dinner and a band will be happening. Check out the ad We have added Thursday Night Dinners in the Dining Room. This will not be buffet style. The hours will be 5:30pm to 7:30 pm. This is not (3714) just for bingo players, this is for ALL interested. Members will not pay more than $8 for a great meal. Have a complaint or suggestion? me at: JBinUTAH@gmail.com See you at the Lodge. Fraternally, John M. Belvedere, PDDGER Exalted Ruler What you don't see with your eyes, don't witness with your mouth. ~Jewish Proverb. 1
