7 North Bristol Sportsman s Club 7 A BIG 2018 ATA-BUCKLE SHOOT THANK YOU to all our volunteers!!!! A BIG THANK YOU to the 35 volunteers giving over 250 hours of their time to make our NBSC 2018 Buckle Shoot very successful. Some of the volunteers stayed down in the trap house for hours loading as they were shooting. This saved a couple of hours on our long day. We had all 5 traps busy for the day. These hours don t include the week of the shoot, getting all the trap houses cleaned up, trap machines in perfect order, taking care of the weedwacking and tending to the flowers, the shed cleaned out preparing for a load of birds, and then the day of the delivery of the birds, we had about 12 guys helping with filling all 5 of the trap houses. In the clubhouse there was registration setup, all the food preparation including the gals doing the baking. The shooters really appreciated all the help from our volunteers. NBSC is noted for the GREAT VOLUNTEERS and of course our great lunch and ice cream sundaes in the afternoon. We had 91 registered trap shooters, shooting 85 rounds of singles, 70 rounds of handicap and 40 rounds of doubles. Each round is 100 birds. We threw 19,500 Targets in a 9-hour day. Overall, we had a Great day, very hot, about 93 degrees with a heat index of just over 100. Some of our volunteers passed out cold wet towels for the shooters, that s how much we appreciate our shooters coming to our club!!! THANK YOU TO OUR NBSC VOLUNTEER TEAM - YOUR ALL THE VERY BEST!!! Carl and Gelane Firme Shoot Coordinator s

8 North Bristol Sportsman s Club 8 R3 R a n d o m R a n g e R a n t s It s well into August already. Hope you are getting some Summer Fun in. The ATA shoot went off well, weather is cooperating better than before. So, it is time to look forward to our next events and activities. We are still pretty busy on Thursdays, Saturday s and Sunday s. We still need someone that can manage the club day to day. We have some really great volunteers and board members that step up and get things done, continuing on the Club improvements, and running events. But it is time to get them some more volunteers to help, and to get someone in place to organize the gang to be better at what they do and to keep things straight so it all runs smoothly. Speaking of Events!! This is the short list, pulled from memory, so probably not to accurate. But not as bad as Fake News yet. Thursday s are still busy, Skeet, 5 Stand is open, rimfire challenge and the day shift continues to burn powder every week. 5 Stand is scheduled to start the Fall league starting August 2nd. So, dust off your 2 shooter or Auto shucker and shoot!! Great practice for the upcoming hunting season and Sporting Clays events you are planning to shoot. Rimfire challenge is still pinging along. Archery and Trap continue, too. Don t forget to help at Chums, the Badger Honor Flight Event and just day to day. We are looking for sponsors, raffle prizes, help and ideas to make the Honor Flight a fun and successful event. Our friends and neighbors in Sun Prairie are still reeling from the downtown disaster. Keep your thoughts and prayers directed their way, as they recover from the explosion, fire and losses of homes, businesses, health, life and possessions. A great big thanks to the Emergency responders, nearby communities, the citizens of Sun Prairie and local area, for stepping up with help, money, aid and support to make the recovery quick and less painful. The Fund raiser for Badger Honor Flight and it s planning is in full swing. Check at the club for Posters, information and how you can help. Bring out items for raffles, fund raisers and the like, and help us get some sponsorships from your Business contacts and employers. The more community support we can drum up, the better the event will be and the more VETs we can help send on the memorable, well deserved trip to D.C. Welcome to all the recent new members that have come aboard. I get to meet some really nice folks when they show up to shoot or take the Orientation. Thanks for choosing NBSC to help you enjoy and participate in the shooting sports. As members, make them feel welcome, and help unfamiliar faces get and stay involved in all our club has to offer. Bring out some friends, talk to other shooters and members and make everyone as welcome as you feel when you hang out at the club. Who knows, you may learn something or even have FUN while hanging out with the New folks. Keep Smiling and Happy Summer. Shoot straight and be Safe See you at the Club
