15 What s On 15 Crisis Management Workshop Everyone always believes that: Something so terrible won t happen to me or my loved ones. Yet, everyday bad things happen to people. It could happen to you! A crisis can happen to anyone, at anytime or any place. When it occurs, we often feel distressed and helpless even as bystanders. It pays to be prepared. Understanding a crisis and forecasting what may happen puts us in a better position to protect both ourselves, and the people around us. Learn how to be prepared for the unexpected. H ow to react normally to abnormal situations E xplore ways to aid and intervene during a crisis L earn to get the better of grief, death and loss P ractise the skills learnt and take home valuable lessons Date: 21 February 2008, Thursday Time: 9am 5.30pm Venue: IMH Meeting Rooms 3 & 4 Fee: $450 (early bird registration closes on 10 January 2008) $490 (Registration closes on 1 February 2008) Target audience: Individuals interested in the psychological aspect of crisis management For enquiries, please call /32 or ccs@imh.com.sg ODE TO WELLNESS WOODBRIDGE HOSPITAL ENDOWMENT FUNDRAISING CONCERT In aid of the Woodbridge Hospital Endowment Fund (WHEF) and to mark the Institute of Mental Health s (IMH) 80th Anniversary, IMH will be holding a charity concert featuring the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO). President S R Nathan has been invited to grace the event as our Guest-of-Honour. Through this event, we hope fellow Singaporeans and fans of Chinese orchestral music will generously support this worthy cause and help make a difference in the lives of those who suffer from mental disorders, including depression, anxiety, addiction, dementia and schizophrenia. Expect a charity concert with a difference! Enjoy music that is educational, entertaining, and therapeutic all at the same time. This concert, under the popular SCO Casual Classical series, continues the success formula of introducing Chinese orchestral music in a lively and interactive manner. Local celebrity Dick Lee once again takes on the role of SCO ambassador to tell the story of Dizi, Xiao and Xun - wind instruments each with its own characteristics and uniqueness. In a delightful celebration of wellness and life, the music combines the sharp, clear notes of the Dizi and the serene, meditative sounds of the Xiao and Xun. Other interesting pieces include Leroy Anderson s Chicken Reel, Fiddle-Faddle and The Syncopated Clock, which will showcase the fun loving, animated facet of Chinese music and give you a good laugh. Experience the healing effects of fun and laughter in this special concert brought to you by IMH and presented by SCO. Date: 20 April 2007, Sunday Time: 8pm Venue: Singapore Conference Hall The Woodbridge Hospital Endowment Fund supports projects and programmes, which provide rehabilitation, welfare, educational intervention, early detection and intervention programmes and subsidies for needy patients, including children. Our patients need more than just medical treatment to help them get back on their feet. Tickets: $138 / $88 / $58 / $38 For tickets and further enquiries on how you can help, please call / or enquiry@imh.com.sg The Woodbridge Hospital Endowment Fund is a registered charity (Charity Registration No: HEF0065/G). It was set up under the Ministry of Health s Healthcare Endowment Fund scheme and is governed by its rules. Our operating expenses are borne by the Institute of Mental Health. All donations go directly to fund programmes to benefit our patients.
