1 Moose Lodge 52 Chapter 2121 The next two months will determine who the new Board of Officers are for both the Lodge and Chapter. March 5 th is the last Nominating Committee meet for both the Lodge and Chapter so if you are interested in running for an elected office please see an officer. Just as important as holding an office in the Lodge or Chapter is the support of you our members. Maybe this will be the year you choice to step forward and make your impression. The new Boards of Officers will be looking for help. There are Appointed Office positions that need filled, Committee Chairmanships that need filled and individuals to serve on those committees. Maybe this level of commitment does not fit your schedule, but a few weeks from now you ask what am I going to do Saturday. Take the step and look at the lodge calendar maybe there is a meal that night, maybe there is a community service event going on or an Woodward, Oklahoma 52, Loyal Order Of Moose A New Moose Year is Coming Games at the Lodge activity like Moose Races, or Trivia. These to are your chance to support the Lodge and Chapter whether you come out and volunteer to help or just participate you are supporting your Lodge and Chapter. More importantly you are supporting our cause: Mooseheart, Moosehaven and our community. Perhaps your devotion lies with another community service organization, did you ever think that relationship between your organization and the Moose could be beneficial to both organizations. No one has all the answers to what is needed and we are always looking for a way to improve our local community. Finally, the Moose is your Fraternity, your ideas, participation and involvement are needed. The Boards of Officers cannot do it all. Remember A burden heavy to one is borne lightly by many. Woodward Moose Lodge feeds Classic Bowl 2017 Beginning Wednesday March 7 th at 6:00 PM the Lodge will hold various games like Ship, Captain and Crew. Left Center Right and others starting at 6:00 PM. Games will begin at 6:00 PM and last as long as participants want to play. You may join in the game at the end of any round and leave when you wish. Our goal is to provide and activity for the earlier evening crowd in the social quarters. So if you have any suggestions of games to play, would like to see it on another night please let an officer know. So come out and join in the fun and still be home before bedtime.. 2 A Word from the Governor Page 2 The end of our Moose year is fast approaching. The lodge still needs your best efforts to find and encourage your friends to join our great fraternity. Please be mindful of your dues, don't let them go into expired or dropped status. Your lodge benefits greatly just by having more members. Obviously, we want you and them to come out and participate in all that we have to offer as well. Lists of your officers both men and woman are in the newsletter, so we can take your suggestions to the meetings. The officers encourage input from our members and we will return with an answer as soon as possible. Better yet come to the meetings yourself and find out first hand. Governor Trever Hepner Moose Legion Update Moose Legionaries, March looks to be another busy month for the Lodge and you help is needed. To start off the month, the Lodge will play host to the OSK- MA State Dart Tournament March 2 nd th. Since we will have dart throwers from throughout the association here we need to provide everyone with meals during these three days. There have been some Moose Legionaries that have already volunteered to assist in manning the kitchen, we could always use more help to get things done. For more information on how you can get involved contact myself, Trever, or Bruce. Our next Moose Legion Gathering will be Friday, March 2 nd, with the meeting at 8:00pm. Depending on how busy the kitchen is we may have to hold the meeting while we cook, but that s ok. I know this group can get it done. March 15 th 18 th is the OSKMA Mid-Year Conference at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Oklahoma City. This is a great weekend to relax, socialize and even conduct a little business, all while having a great time and even raise some funds for Moose Charities. April 1 st this year is Easter, no foolin. The Moose and the Elks Lodge s have for many years now have worked together to provide the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Crystal Beach Park. Get involved by helping setup the hunt grounds, then bring your kids, grandkids and great grandkids out for the hunt. It is just amazing how it takes our group an hour or more to set it all up and the kids just seconds to pick up all the eggs. Brothers, we are the Moose Legion, the men who get things done. 4 Women of the Moose Update There are a lot of events and activities happening in March and you can check the calendar for those. But this month I want to talk to you about something I think we have stopped focusing on. When we signed the back of our application to become a member we took an oath that we would support Mooseheart and Moosehaven, but it appears we have lost our focus. That is extremely sad because the need is so great. I'm wondering if you're aware that we have five young children that are residents at Mooseheart from the Oklahoma. Those are our kids. These little ones depend on us as a Lodge and Chapter to provide for them. What can we do? How do we do this? By stepping forward and taking an office on the Board of Officers, or a chairman of a committee. or just coming out and volunteering for the fundraisers that support Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Attend a meeting to see what needs done. In the news we hear of mass school shootings is so tragic, but at Mooseheart the children are safe and thriving in receiving a quality education. These children will be our future leaders. They will have all the Page tools to exceed and make beautiful changes for our future. We just need, as Lodges and Chapters to let them know that we are behind them that we care, and they are not forgotten. People pay your dues and if you know someone who is in arrears encourage them to get current. I received a newsletter from Mooseheart via . It was titled oh the places they will go. It was chocked full of the most adorable pictures of our children at Mooseheart. You can go online at uploads/2018/02/mooseheart-newsletter.pdf and look at the newsletter and enjoy the pictures and know that you have made a difference in so many young people's lives. In closing my prayer is that you never let your dues lapse.
