3 GOVERNOR S MESSAGE: Progress is being made on our building, The outside repairs and renovations continue. The annual Chicken BBQ! What can I say? It could not have been more fun or more successful. The attendance (over 175) was most impressive. The food was plentiful and delicious. The band was enjoyed by all. To those who attended, it was a pleasure to see all of you there. To all those who worked thank you thank you thank you. Your team spirit and dedication were the key; your efforts are the reason why a good time was had by all. That brings me to an important point. Our Women of the Moose always always contribute. Their work and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated. Thank you ladies. As I write this, it is sadly evident that another summer is slipping away. The party for Pilgrim Brother George Yeade will be over and done by the time you read this. I know it will have been a great celebration. Well-deserved and sincere congratulations to Brother George. 10 SENIOR REGENT S MESSAGE: Hi, everyone. There are some changes taking place in our lodge, however both boards are extremely optimistic that we will be working together and moving forward in a positive and productive atmosphere! Between the renovations and events, it's been a very busy summer at our lodge. The July fund raiser for Deborah Bouchetti who had two brain surgeries was a huge success. Officer training, the annual Chicken Barbecue and The Chinese Auction, all held on the same weekend, kept everyone busy. Thanks to the volunteers who worked so hard, we were able to accomplish all of it, raise money for our charities, and even have a good time!! I'm happy to say that more people are attending our monthly meetings. Recently we had guest speakers Janice Young and Susan Ruffini from The Northfork Breast Health Coalition. Cathy Wood who is responsible for hundreds of shoe boxes being sent to distressed areas has also been a speaker as well as Mathew Tees who has worked at Mooseheart. Pirates of the Peconic was a big success thanks to Chairman Alona Meyers and all the volunteers who worked so hard. We have a very special night planned for the October 11, chapter meeting or "girl's night out" as we sometimes refer to it. This is our "Christmas in October" celebration. The room will be decorated for Christmas and a pot luck dinner will be served. We also have guest speaker Beth DelGiudice from Long Island Youth Mentoring scheduled. A Halloween Party as well as children's bingo will be held on Sunday, October 23, at 1PM, downstairs, in the lodge for children 12 and under. On Oct. 29th, at 6:30, A Halloween Dinner Dance will include music by DJ Tommy Parris and a buffet dinner. Costumes are optional, but there will be prizes for 3 best costumes. Paint night is planned for Nov.12 at 7:00. $40.00 admission includes all paint supplies, a glass of wine and snacks. Finally, Mooseheart is preparing to build a new, 105 apartment complex for its residents. This project, called "The Centennial Project," is expected to cost ten million dollars. WOTM are asked to donate $6.00 per active member over the next 3 years. Our lodge has over 530 women members. That would mean a donation of over $3, from our lodge. We are asking our membership to donate a minimum of $6.00 per person toward this project. If you would like to donate, please send a check made out to WOTM, earmark it for the Centennial Project, and mail to P.O. Box 1834, Riverhead, N.Y In closing, I want to thank Chairmen Alona Meyers, Ginny Fisher, AnneMarie Hahn Special Chairman Darlene Faith and (again) the many volunteers who spend hours working to make these events a success!!! 12 Just a reminder The Riverhead Moose Lodge has a commercial account at ADVANCED AUTO PARTS This allows the members to receive a discounted price on pretty much all merchandise. Sometimes the discount is an improvement over the sale price. In any event if you are in need of any automotive merchandise you can save some money by taking advantage of the Lodge discount. 16 THE PRIVATE POLICY YOU ARE EITHER A MEMBER OR A GUEST All adult guests must be signed in the guest book (at the front door) and leave when the member leaves. All adult guests will be identified in some manner to distinguish them as a non-member. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests. The term guest includes non-member spouses. A member not in good standing (i.e. in arrears on payment of dues but not dropped) may not enter any lodge, even as a guest. ---house committee Page 16

Both the men s and women's boards and the entire membership would like to thank Darlene and Peter Faith.
