2 The Pennsylvania Narcotic Officers Association will host a three (3) day seminar at the Holiday Inn East in cooperation with Lawrence County District Attorney s Office, New Castle Police Department, MAGLOCLEN, Philadelphia-Camden HIDTA, the U.S. Attorney s Offices from Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania. DATE: The conference will begin at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 and concludes at 12:00 PM on Friday, March 27, Registration will be conducted on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. REGISTRATION FEE: Ninety dollars ($90.00) covers the cost of the conference incidentals. Please mail the registration to the PNOA, P.O. Box 249, Mountaintop, PA , no later than Monday, March 16, Business casual dress and pre-registration are required for this conference. No registrations will be accepted at the door without prior approval. Department ID will be required at the time of registration. Conference activities are limited to conference attendees only. A package plan has been arranged which includes two (2) nights lodging, two (2) buffet breakfasts, a dinner voucher for Wednesday night (in the hotel restaurant) and a dinner on Thursday, March 26 th, The cost of the package is $ per person, based on double occupancy and $ based on single occupancy. Smith, Ph.D., Support Services Division LA State Police Bobby Smith is a retired LA State Trooper. He will share the traumatic event that took place on March 15, 1986, when he was left blind after a shotgun blast to the face by a violent offender. Bobby will discuss critical events and how trauma affects the individual mentally, physically, emotionally and behaviorally. INTERVIEW & INTERROGATION Gregory J. UNDERSTANDING THE SOVEREIGN CITIZEN Sgt. This former police officer will share his personal story of addiction, the extreme consequences that followed and his continued recovery. The program will provide attendees with an in-depth look at how and why alcohol and other substances are often used by police officers as the default method of dealing with both traumatic events and the daily stressors of life. DRUG FIELD TESTING CERTIFICATION Jack Thorndike, Sirchie Officers will be certified in drug field testing.
