1 FEBRUARY 1, 2016 Tell us something good rock house Submitted by: Laura Belcher, Chief of Planning & Development Kim Lambert, Treva Shirley & Katie Shepard MARKETING OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE T.J. Community Mission Foundation tta Bri Have you ever walked or driven around T.J. Samson Community Hospital and wondered what happens in the Rock House next to the maintenance building? The Rock House is a very busy place and is responsible for lots of behind the scenes operations for the entire organization. There are three separate departments housed in the Rock House accounting for eight employees and one intern. The largest department is the Marketing Department that is responsible for all billboards, radio and television commercials, building signage, employee newsletters, community newsletters and social media to just name a few. The majority of this work is handled by Bart Logsdon, Bethany Matthews and Olivia Turner. Nancy Steele is also part of the Marketing Department and her focus is to keep bringing new physicians to T.J. Samson through recruiting and also to make sure that the community and surrounding communities know about the services and physicians we have at T.J.. First row: Laura Belcher and Olivia Turner. Back row: Bart Logsdon, Nancy Steele & Bethany Matthews ny S hirl ey, Intern

2 (Rock House Team, continued) Kim Lambert is busy working every day on starting and growing the T.J. Community Mission Foundation, a separate 501c3 where the sole purpose is to raise money to support the mission of T.J Regional Health. Currently, Kim is meeting with potential donors for the Love Makes a House a Home capital campaign to build an inpatient hospice home. For more information, visit The newest addition to the Rock House is the Occupational Medicine Department. Treva Shirley and Katie Shepard work together to engage T.J. Samson with local business, schools, manufacturing plants and other community entities for related occupational healthcare services, screenings and wellness education. Occupational Medicine coordinates services with lab, emergency services, primary care, radiology and The Clinic at Walmart to make sure that a business s workforce is drug free and healthy enough to engage in their roles and responsibilities related to their positions. Although there are three separate departments, the best thing about working and living in the rock house is the teamwork that happens throughout the year to make sure the annual Women s Conference, Christmas parade float, summer Community Health Fair, monthly lunch and learns and many other activities happen on-schedule and at the highest level of professionalism that represents T.J. well to the community. It is a pleasure to work with each of these individuals and watch how each of their talents and abilities come together to promote health in the name of T.J. in all the communities that we serve. Winning at Losing Are you looking for extra motivation to accomplish your 2016 weight management resolution? This may be the program for you!
