Carver College of Medicine. PURPOSE Neurogenetic disorders affect thousands of Americans and are difficult to treat. Translational scientists forming the faculty of this meeting are in the forefront of developing therapies to help treat these disorders; these therapies will eventually become worldwide standards for neurogenetics. The 's annual symposium will provide the intended audience information to apply to their work. INTENDED AUDIENCE Neurologists, healthcare providers, allied health workers, residents (current and former), fellows, and students

2 GENERAL INFORMATION OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this program the learner should be able to: Identify neurogenetic disease of the brain, spinal cord, nerve, and muscle Utilize the current standards of care for managing these disorders Describe how to diagnose and differentiate these disorders in a rational manner Discuss the clinical presentation and management of genetic diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerve and muscle Explain advances in translational science for these neurogenetic disorders Review the underlying etiologies for these disorders and approaches to treatment Evaluate patients and families with neurogenetic conditions REGISTRATION While registration is open until the start of the conference, we encourage early registration to enable us to provide the best possible service. The symposium rates are as follows: Non- UI Physicians $200 UI Physicians $100 Nurses and Allied Health $50 Trainees (residents & students) Free A late fee of $25 will be added for all registrations made after September 23, All fees include registration, symposium materials, breakfast, and lunch. SPECIAL EVENTS: Welcome Reception A welcome reception will be held Thursday September 29th from 7-9 at the Share Wine Lounge & Small Bistro at the Sheraton Iowa City Hotel. HOMECOMING The UI Homecoming Parade is Friday evening, September 30, in downtown Iowa City. The Iowa Hawkeye football team will play against the Northwestern Wildcats at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday, October 1, at 11:00 am. Lodging A limited number of rooms has been reserved at the Comfort Suites Hotel in Coralville. Room rates for September 29, 2016 are $139 per night, excluding taxes. Room rates for September 30 - October 1, 2016 are $219 per night, excluding taxes. Rooms will be held in reserve until August 31, Parking Parking is available in the hospital and campus ramps at prevailing rates.
