1 IN THIS SPRING ISSUE Spring Training Term 4 Small group equipment classes Client Workshop series Continue TERM 4 DATES & FEES NEWSLETTER Change for the better As I mature as a teacher I find my work is not so much about what I am teaching but how I am teaching it. We have two types of students Type one are those that want to check their Pilates class off their list for the week, job done. You prefer the comfort of the known routine and often fall into the default mode of how you originally learned the exercise at the beginning of your practice. I observe you checking other students in the class to see which exercise we re up to and doing it how you have always done it, like a holding pattern, imposing routine movement on yourself whether that movement serves you or not. Type two are those who like to engage in the process of self discovery. You are observing and listening to what your body needs, exploring new pathways and connections as they present in the teaching. Like sponges you absorb the intricacies and delicacies of the practice that nourish your body and mind, revealing hidden strengths and healing old patterns of movement that were stressful and disorganised and therefore your body thrives. You take this awareness into your daily life finding better ways to do your daily tasks and activities. Type one still benefit from what they are doing, a weekly practice of putting your body through a physical routine. But type two really benefit from the how you connect to the movement and the steady change this brings to you and your life.

2 pilates is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace and skill that will be unmistakably reflected in the way you walk in the way you play and in the way you work -Joseph pilates STUDIO NEWS It is lovely to see have the studio spaces being utilised as more of you take the options of different teachers and training that is now available. Tania is teaching Private Training and Small Group classes 3 mornings per week. Now Emil is in childcare two mornings a week Maren is also here 3 mornings a week and Tuesday evening. This term we welcome Sarah Mounsey who has recently moved to Nelson. Sarah has trained under Carla Mullins and Tania Huddart and is a lovely new asset to the studio. Sarah will be relief teaching in the Mat studio as needed and teaching Private Clients and Small Groups on Mondays and Fridays between 9.30am and 1pm and Wednesday evenings between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Please let me know if you have a small group of 3, a Duo or you d like to book a PT sessions with Sarah. Sarah is also trained in pre and post natal pilates and Barre class. If you are currently working with Tania on a 5 week block of training please let us know if you d like to continue for another 5 or 10 weeks beginning at the start of next term (week of the 15th October) so we know where there are spaces to include new students.the cost for 5 weeks of Reformer or Springboard Group is $150, or Group Studio $160. If you would like to sign up for 10 weeks and pay in advance we can discount the price to $290 for Reformer/Springboard and $310 for Group Studio. Private Training is $75 per hour or discounts are available for payment in advance, please check the website for further information. New payment details Please note Pilates Nelson is now a company, please make cheques out to Pilates Nelson Limited. WORKSHOPS WORKSHOPS WORKSHOPS!! The Sunday afternoon Workshop series continue to be well attended and appreciated for useful and practical information and lots of good humour. Back by popular demand we have RELEASE YOUR BACK AND SHOULDER TENSION and HEALTHY PELVIC FLOOR on Sunday 11th November. And to prepare you for the long summer holiday break PILATES ON HOLIDAY Please contact Tania (details below) to enrol, spaces are limited and fill quickly.
