You do not have to be a resident of Meade County or even know someone who will be attending! If in the description of the class being held asks that you pre-register, please call our office at This gives us an idea on the amount of materials we need to prepare. All attendees will get a first hand look at ideas and recipes for the holidays. Each person will be given a booklet of information from the event. No charge! Pre-registration is not required. Tuesday, October 30 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. AARP Defensive Driving Course For Seniors (age 55 and over); This is a four hour class. Cost: $15 for members; $20 for non-members. 3 THERE IS HOPE A Realistic Look at Drugs and Addiction in Meade County A series of programs to enlighten and educate NO CHARGE All sessions begin at 6:00 pm at the Meade County, 1041 Old Ekron Road, Brandenburg. September 20th ~ From High to Low to Living Life: Understanding Addiction Alex Elswick was a successful high school athlete who played sports in college until his addiction threatened to destroy his life. Hear his story, how he took control of his addiction and how addiction grips the human brain. September 27th ~ The Truth of the Matter: Drugs in Meade County Front line responders and members of the judicial system will be on hand to present factual information on Meade County substance abuse. Interactive Q & A session October 18th ~ Hiding In Plain Sight People with substance use disorders will go to great lengths to secure and conceal that which soothes. Join KY State Police to learn common ways drug users hide their stash. Especially important for those who care for school aged youth. November 1 ~ Where Do We Go From Here? Each of us plays an important role in supporting our community to make it the best it can be. What do we do with this new knowledge on addiction and abuse in Meade County? Open communication on how to address these issues.
