2 From the Co-Leaders: With Board elections coming up in April, let s take a minute to talk about the Co-Leader position. There will be one Co-Leader position up for election! It s a one year term & you d work with Jessica (who has been awesome!). The Co-Leaders are in charge of this monthly newsletter, putting together the Board Meeting agendas, running the Board meeting, organizing the Secret Sister Exchange (2x a year) and generally making sure things are running smoothly. You are also asked to monitor the Facebook page for inappropriate postings. It s really not as intimidating a position as it may sound! I ve enjoyed my term and this is the third time I ve served as a Co-Leader. If you have any questions about this position or others that are coming up for election, please ask! 3 Announcing the Moms & More of Oswego Scholarship! We are proud to announce The Moms & More of Oswego Scholarship! This scholarship will be facilitated through the Waubonsee Community College Foundation. We are awarding two deserving students with a one-year scholarship for the school year in the amount of $2000 each to be used towards tuition, fees, or books. These two scholarships will be awarded to a new or returning female student with children, at least a 2.5 GPA, and who resides within the Waubonsee Community College District. Contact Nicole, Jessica or Heather D. with questions.

4 Community Outreach One of the items discussed and decided on at the February Board Meeting is how our group can help our community in the light of the Aurora tragedy. We were able to make a donation of $500 to the Aurora Strong Foundation. Additionally, once things settle down a bit, we plan to use some of our Community Outreach money to buy and put together baskets of goodies for the Aurora Police Department. We will keep you posted on specifics but as of right now, the plan is to have a basket of sweet and savory treats as well as caffeinated drinks, etc. made for each shift, including officers and dispatchers. At this point we are thinking it will be three baskets. Stay tuned for more info and if you have ideas, feel free to bring them to a Board Meeting!

5 Community Outreach: Pop Tops The deadline is coming up next month! Have you been saving your pop tops? Moms and More is collecting pop tops as a community outreach project. We will be donating the pop tops in May to Edward Hospital. Please collect them at home and we will have a collection drop off time scheduled in late April.

Whether you have been on the board in the past, or if you are looking for a way to get involved, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Please reach out to our co-leaders, Nicole Feleciano and Jessica Thayer or our Secretary, Kathy Mayyou if you are interested in a position. 8 Board Elections cont d. The majority of the positions are chaired with a second person, so you may not be alone in the job! We will be highlighting positions in the coming weeks. It should be noted that there have been several people who have served on our board for multiple terms. It really is a fantastic way to be involved with the group, the meetings are pretty fun, and it feels great to share ideas and see them happen! 9 Save the Date! Family Easter Party Don t miss out on the Family Easter Party on Saturday April 6th. We ll enjoy some time with the residents of Sunnymere Retirement Home. The elite will come out soon, please don t forget to RSVP. Sunnymere is located at 925 6th Ave. in Aurora.

10 Thank you from the Care Coordinator! No meals this month. At February s Board meeting, we learned from our waitress that there was a group of Aurora Police meeting in the same room after us. We used the money that we have in our budget for the Care Coordinator (traditionally used to buy cards & stamps, misc.) to buy them $50 worth of appetizers. It was a real feel-good moment. So, thank you to Amanda, our Care Coordinator for giving up her budget, and to EVERYONE because it was the group s money!
