Local Youth the lives of youth i our commuity. Each year the Optimist Club of St. Adrews Irmo club holds two evets: a Christmas tree ad wreath sale ad a golf touramet.

The evet sold out of trees i less tha three weeks ad used the trimmigs of said trees to create wreathes ot oly to sell but to place at the graves of veteras at our local Elmwood Cemetery.

Adrews Irmo hosts each year is a golf touramet held at the Oak Hills Coutry Club i Columbia. This evet brigs i umerous sposors who support the club throughout various levels of moetary doatios.

This past year, i 2018, the 501(c)(4) sold approximately 320 trees at McGregor Presbyteria Church located at 6505 St. Adrews Rd., Columbia, SC, The evet sold out of trees i less tha three weeks ad used the trimmigs of said trees to create wreathes ot oly to sell but to place at the graves of veteras at our local Elmwood Cemetery. These wreaths were created with the iclusio of the local youth, specifically those attedig Irmo High School. The other evet the Optimist Club of St. Adrews Irmo hosts each year is a golf touramet held at the Oak Hills Coutry Club i Columbia. This evet brigs i umerous sposors who support the club throughout various levels of moetary doatios. All doatios are spread amog various local charities that beefit the youth i the area, icludig but ot limited to Palmetto Place, Katria s Kids, D.A.R.E., the Just Say No program, Camp Kemo, Sack Pack, ad may others. The goal of this civic orgaizatio of me ad wome is, simply put, to beefit the youth of our area. Whether it directly or idirectly impacts youg people, the Optimist Club boasts a moral ad civic duty to aid i the developmet of youth i our commuity. Local oprofit orgaizatios such as Katria s Kids, fouded by Seator Katria Shealy, raise awareess ad fudig for foster childre.
