Exercise in disguise Music from around the world makes you want to move, gives you energy, and makes you feel strong, happy, and healthy! We ll be sharing favorite recipes with each other. Come prepared with your copies of a favorite recipe to handout to others as we do a fun recipe exchange. SANYS Board Members are excited to introduce you to Arnold Ackerley, SANYS New Administrative Director. Come and see what all the excitement is about! People from different parts of the region come together and meet new faces. In small groups, we will make new connections and new friendships. Discussing initiatives of the Center for Self Advocacy, Buffalo including our peer-to-peer travel training program, The Peer Empowerment Network (which supports youth with disabilities transitioning to adulthood), and our advocacy for an accessible regional office of the OPWDD here in Buffalo. This is a workshop about how I wrote my Autobiography. Come find out ways you can stay safe online. We ll also discuss the consequences of using the Internet inappropriately. The workshop will entail learning to register to vote and the kinds of accessible equipment available to assist those with different disabilities. 10. Becoming a Minister Larenz Pickens, Jeremy Cooper, Sandra Cooper (Jeremy s Mom), Jessica Cooper (Sister) Larenz shares, as a self advocate, if you feel God has called you, you can feel confident that YOU CAN DO IT! Jeremy will be sharing his Dream Speech on working towards becoming a minister.

Field of Possibilities that Lead to Employment Marilyn Stata, Christy Glenn, Laverne Scott, Allen Fontaine, Bobby Terry, Susan O Hearn This workshop will help you have greater impact reaching your goals and being successful. An introduction to technologies that can help foster independence for activities of daily living. Things like doctor's appointments, prescriptions, and therapies can be difficult to understand! Join us at this health advocacy presentation as we discuss ways in which you can advocate for yourself and also to learn some tips on how to make navigating the health world a bit easier. Find out what meditation is and how it can help you in your life. Come listen as well as participate in a guided meditation. 5 2017 Western Regional Conference Registration Absolutely no registrations will be accepted after April 28, 2017 Instructions: 1) Fill out one form for each person attending, including staff. Walk-ins cannot be accepted. Direct Support Professionals must be registered ahead of time. 2) Deadline: April 28, ) Register by mailing form to: The Self Advocacy Association of NYS, Inc. C/O: Conference 1200 East and West Road Bldg 16 Buffalo, NY ) Make Check or Money Order payable to SANYS and mail with registration. 5) Make Hotel reservations by calling the Radisson at (585) Rooms are $105. Cots are $10. Mention the Self Advocacy conference. Parking is included for conference attendees. The Rochester Radisson is located at 120 E. Main Street, Rochester NY. 6) A limited number of partial scholarships are available on a need basis.
