3 ABOUT The mission of Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN) is to save lives and empower those affected by HIV/AIDS and related illnesses. The mission of Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN) is to save lives and empower those affected by HIV/AIDS and related illnesses. For 30 years, TPAN has been committed to providing unparalleled information, medical access, and behavioral services to those living with or vulnerable for HIV/AIDS and related illnesses. TPAN s legacy began during the height of the AIDS epidemic our founders created the agency as a source of reliable information and support for those faced with an HIV diagn osis. TPAN saved countless lives by connecting the newly diagnosed to medical treatment and group support. We continue this work to this day. As treatment options for HIV have improved, and those with the disease are living longer, TPAN s work has expanded to include co-occurring conditions: HIV stigma, mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, unemployment, extreme poverty, and inadequate access to healthcare. We empower everyone who walks through our doors with the skills they need to live complete and healthy lives. Lorraine Hayes, l.hayes@tpan.com, x236 3
4 The Ride for AIDS Chicago (RFAC) Community Partners The Ride supports TPAN s mission by raising funds for lifesaving services, and empowering the HIV community to fight the stigma and indifference surrounding the disease. In addition to service TPAN s clients, the Community Partner Program, launched in 2009, broadens the Ride s impact and sustains dozens of nonprofits throughout Chicago. In 2016, RFAC disbursed over $125,000 to its Community Partners. Centered around LGBTQ and health access causes, previous Community Partners include: About Face Theatre AIDS Foundation of Chicago Alexian Brothers AIDS Ministry Chicago House Social Services Children of Uganda Center on Halsted Fred Says Friends of Amani United States Howard Brown Health Southside Help Center Youth Outlook RFAC is a uniquely singular event: the Midwest s only fully-supported double-century cycling event. Over two days, riders cycle 200 miles from Chicago, Illinois through the rolling hills of scenic Wisconsin. Participants receive 5 months of free indoor and outdoor training, fundraising assistance, and are welcomed into a vibrant community of amateur athletes and advocates. In the 14 years since the event began, RFAC has raised over $4.5 million to benefit Chicago s most vulnerable residents. Lorraine Hayes, l.hayes@tpan.com, x236 4

6 JOIN US! However you are involved, you ll see the positive contributions you are making to the community, individually and collectively. Ride: Unlike single day events, RFAC participants and sponsors become part of a committed community that remains engaged in RFAC from January through July. RFAC is unique in offering a free five-month indoor and outdoor training program, hosting individual and team fundraising events, cycling safety clinics and an expo, all leading up to the event weekend. Our participants are a community sharing successes, training tips, and product recommendations, and ensuring that everyone is part of the effort to care for our fellow Chicagoans and fighting the stigma of HIV. Whether a 100- or 200-mile rider, your involvement saves lives. Crew: Crew are the backbone of the Ride for AIDS Chicago. As a fully-supported ride, Crew provides encouragement and ensures our riders complete the training program and Ride weekend safely. Those who sign up to crew should commit to helping out 1-2 weekends per month during outdoor training, April through July. Volunteer: RFAC could not happen without countless volunteers helping us for Ride weekend. Opportunities include pre-production as well as day-of assignments, from assembling materials to staffing a pit stop and providing snacks and encouragement. No amount of help is too small! Lorraine Hayes, l.hayes@tpan.com, x236 6
7 CORPORATE OVERVIEW We Need You: Since its inception, RFAC has raised over $4.5 million for HIV/AIDS programs and service throughout Chicago, and empowered countless individuals to live open, positive lives. By becoming a sponsor of RFAC, or forming a corporate team, you make a significant contribution to changing the face of HIV. You make a commitment to caring for countless Chicagoans. By forming a corporate team, you can: Foster new relationships among staff members Engage with staff family networks Allow leaders within your staff to emerge through our Team Captain program Fulfill your corporate responsibility goals Empower your brand in the eyes of your participants, donors, and your employees Build morale for affinity groups within your organization Support your corporate health and wellness goals Network with other corporations and nonprofits Increase personal and group satisfaction that comes from committing to a cause Lorraine Hayes, l.hayes@tpan.com, x236 7
