1 ANCHORAGE AREA SERCIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Monday, December 3, 2012 MEETING OPENED: 6:30 pm, Sean C., with a moment of silence and the Serenity Prayer READING: Service Prayer (Joe R.) Decorum Statement (Joe C.), Twelve Traditions (Neil H.) and Twelve Concepts (Ash A.) ROLL CALL: 19/24 eligible GSRs in attendance NEW GROUPS: None. MINUTES FROM NOVEMBER: AMENDMENTS TO AGENDA: Approved. None. ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE REPORTS (Full, Written Reports on File until Minutes are approved) Chair: Vice Chair: (Sean C.) In attendance, no written report. (Corry C.) Hello family my name is Corry and I m an addict. This is our last area meeting in 2012 We cannot change the nature of the addict or addiction. We can help to change the old lie Once an addict, always an addict, by striving to make recovery more available. God, help us to remember this difference. BASIC TEXT PAGE 25. 6TH ADDITION. Thank you all for your loving service. It has been brought to my attention. Part of my job as vice chair is to keep order. At the last area I noticed lots of side conversations, talking out of turn, not waiting to be called on. This makes for a long meeting. PLEASE keep side conversations for after the meeting, raise your hand to speak and wait till the Chair calls on you to speak. Thank you all for your participation, willingness and understanding. In loving and learning service Corry C. Secretary: (Tami M.) My address is aascnasecretary@gmail.com, it is also in your paper copy of the minutes. If you are not receiving Area minutes, please make sure we have the correct address. ILS Tami M.

2 Treasurer: (Josh W.) I am currently out of town and would like to thank Corry C. for filing in for me. Receipts from November's meeting will be distributed tonight. I want to extend my gratitude and appreciation to Terri H. for meeting with me in November to assist me in transitioning to the position of treasurer. Corry C. needs to be added as a signatory to the Area bank account with Wells Fargo. I am in the process of updating the Quickbooks file, which accounts for our financial transactions. It was last updated in late I intend to be done with this process in time for the Area meeting in January. At that point, I will be able to provide more detailed reporting of our accounting history and financial standing. No Regional or World contributions have been made since late I estimate that we owe about $350 to each, and we have the funds to do so, according to our formula that 1% of our ending monthly balance be contributed to each. For example, if we end a month with a $3,000 balance, we would contribute $30 to Region and $30 to World. The treasurer reports that Terri H. prepared accounted for this ongoing liability. We will be electing a vice chair at the next meeting. Our committee meets at wings and things the third Thursday of each month. The meeting is well attended and most of our facilities are set with panel leaders and members. We try to have two Addicts going into each facility as per our guidelines. We have a request that we would like to have taken back to the groups. Our intention for the request is to get more NA books into the facilities. Most of them have many copies of the AA big book. We are hoping once the books get into the facilities then, we can help them order and keep NA books available to their clients. We are asking the fellowship for a little boost with this project. If we can get one or two books from each of our groups over the next couple of months, we could meet our goal. So H&I is requesting that the groups it area donate basic text for us to distribute in some of the treatment centers and facilities that we serve. They can be new or used.
