4 WOTM News The New Year started off with lots of exciting events taking place in January and February. A really great time was had by everyone who participated in the Chicken Shoot, Chowder Fest, Night at the Races, Ham Dinners, Sock Hop just to name a few of the events held at the Lodge. As always thank you to all of our members & co-workers who help make these events such a success. March and April will continue to be stimulating months with the announcement from International to again offer the Moose Economic Stimulus Plan. Anyone enrolled in the months of February through April will have the $20 application fee waived. This is for all new and former members who would like to join/rejoin our fraternity The Time is Now to invite your friends or family members join and save some money doing so. March and April leads the way for our new Chapter Year beginning in May. The final slate of nominees for chapter officers will be read at the March 7 th meeting and election of officers will take place on March 21 st. The new officers for the year will be installed on April 30 th Please join us for these meetings to show your support of these individuals who will lead us in attaining our Chapter Award of Achievement and another great chapter year. We want to thank Betty and Rich Korell for their donation in memory of Elizabeth Peret and to Ken O Connor and Wayne Davis for their donation to Mooseheart. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. The Moose Kids Easter Egg hunt will take place on Saturday, April 23 rd at 1pm. Any co-worker who would like to volunteer stuffing eggs or working the event please see an officer. Our annual Mother Day Plant sale will be held on Saturday, May 1 st from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM or until sold out. There will be a large variety of hangers and potted plants to choose from. Please join us and perhaps pick up a plant or two for Mom or the Special Person in your life. March 15 th and April 19 th are the WOTM upcoming blood drive dates. We are still collecting Box Tops for Education and empty Lay s product bags for Mooseheart. On March 4 th 6 th the mid-year conference was held at the Hotel Radisson in Nashua, New Hampshire. A fantastic time was had by all who attended and our Academy of Friendship candidates received their degrees. Congratulations! February 4 th was Heart Awareness Wear Red for Women Day. The WOTM sold red hearts to put on our Heart Tree and Heart Shaped Chocolate Pops to raise funds which will be donated in April to the American Heart Association Bay State Cardiac Unit right here in Springfield. Thank you to all members and co-workers for your support. A very special thank you goes out to Mary Dupont who continues to make all the pops for this and other fund raising projects.
