Jenkins Date: October 31, 2014 Re: Tyson Plant Closure Update In July Tyson Foods announced a plan that is part of our ongoing effort to improve our performance in the Prepared Foods Segment of our business. This plan allows us to optimize our supply chain efficiencies and balance our product portfolio with customer demand and raw material availability. As part of this plan we announced the closing of three plants: Cherokee, Iowa; Buffalo, New York; and Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The Cherokee, Iowa facility has already closed. The Buffalo, New York facility will be closed effective January 3, 2015 and the Santa Teresa, New Mexico facility will be closed no later than the first half of calendar Over the last several months, we have been working on a SKU rationalization/portfolio optimization plan for these impacted facilities. As part of this plan we will be rationalizing some SKUs based on unsustainable volume and our production capabilities going forward. We also explored additional production locations for items previously produced at the facilities mentioned above. These changes will impact both Tyson owned brands and private label products. Included are all Tyson branded products that are impacted. Your Tyson Food Service sales manager will be reaching out to you in regards to any private label products affected. 10 January 8, 2015 Re: Croissant code changes for 3252 and 3258 ONLY To our valued customer, Bake Crafters is finishing up a major upgrade in our croissant line. This new line is designed to supply our customers with an improved product with the ever increasing demand of our croissants. However, the current downside of this new line is that we have experienced some unforeseen problems getting everything interfaced and running properly, which has held us up a little longer than expected. We now expect to be in full production by January 19, 2015, and will start shipping orders by the end of that week; PO s can be placed for the arrival of the week of January 26th. The other issue we have to address is our case counts will change from 90 count per case to an 80 count per case. New codes to order are listed below, please note the price will remain the same per piece. We realize this will be inconvenient for you to change in the middle of the year; however, we ve tried every way we could to continue the current pack, but could not find a way to make it work.
