Page 3 Successful 2014 Prophy Cup Golf Tournament The 2014 Prophy Cup Golf Tournament was held September 7, 2014, at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City. A total of 111 golfers participated. Most were students but faculty, staff, and alumni teams also participated. The golf tournament was held to raise money for the 2011 Fund that helps patients afford treatment and enables students to complete the patient treatment requirements needed to graduate. The event was planned by Peter Marsho (D2) and Taylor Zmoos (D4) with help from friends, classmates, and administrators at the College of Dentistry. Connie Bingham, Dean Solow, and Penni Ryan were instrumental in ensuring this was a success, says Taylor Zmoos. (Above, left to right): Second place golfers Dr. David Bohnenkamp, Russ Irvine, Jim Dickerson, and Dr. Vinny Huang. It had been my dream for a while to have a school-wide golf tournament for a good cause, says Taylor. I was introduced to Peter Marsho last year by Dean Solow. She said he had come to her wondering why the school didn t have a big tournament with all of the golfers here at the college. We met and immediately formed a great team. Pete has done a ton and will be a great tournament organizer in future years. We raised over $1500, which will go towards patients treatment. This was the inaugural year, but we have set up the tournament to occur every fall. (Above, left to right): Third place golfers Chris Marsho, Tim Marsho, Peter Marsho, and Thomas Marsho. Peter Marsho hopes to have more alumni involved in the tournament next year. First place team (score of -16): Dr. Mike Vandello (DDS 13); Josh Doyle D3); Ben James (D3); and Ryan Lubinsky (D3). Second place team (score of -14): Dr. David Bohnenkamp, Prosthodontics; Russ Irvine, Iowa City; Jim Dickerson, Iowa City; and Dr. Vinny Huang, Prosthodontics. Third place team (score of -14): Peter Marsho (D2), Tim Marsho (Peter s father); Chris and Thomas Marsho (Peter s brothers). Page 4 Dr. Hellstein Receives a Revolving Tie Rack for His Jeep Dr. John Hellstein, Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine, is well known for his ties. He stores them in the back of his jeep (see photos). This storage arrangement, however, resulted in unsightly wrinkles, so a revolving tie rack was donated and anonymously installed. Dr. Hellstein seems pleased with the results of the new storage method no more wrinkles!
