Ralph Daniello Receives Improving Our Workplace Award (IOWA) Ralph Daniello, RN, Oral Surgery (above, center), recently learned that he had been nominated and received the Improving Our Workplace Award (IOWA). The IOWA affords supervisors and co-workers the opportunity to recognize staff for a variety of efforts that have had positive results in their workplace. Ralph uses his love of photography to enhance the learning experience by providing intraoral photos for educational PowerPoint presentations and to post illustrative photos of new techniques in the 15 operatories. To enhance the patient experience, Ralph has donated his photos of nature for viewing in the waiting room and provides photos of faculty and staff to help patients connect names and faces of staff. Ralph was nominated by Kiera Templeton, DA II, in Oral Surgery. Kiera enlisted her coworkers in her efforts to acknowledge Ralph for his contributions to the department. Ralph will be recognized by the University at a reception later this spring. His co-workers in Oral Surgery recently surprised him with a luncheon, and Kiera presented him with the certificate of acknowledgment.

Barb Colbert selected 4/4 because she liked the date. Joellen Jepson picked 4/4 because she had vacation plans and hoped the snow would be gone by the time she returned to work. Dr. Teresa Morgan decided to pick 4/4 because she hoped the snow pile would be gone in a month. Congratulations to the winners each received a smoked ham.
