Dr. McNaughton graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in biology in 2007; he received his DDS from Iowa in 2015. He and his wife, Marisa, have two dogs: Beaker is a lab-collie mix and Libby is a terrier mix. One individual is recognized semiannually from a list of nominations, which are screened and selected by a committee made up of previous Ambassador Club awardees. Eligible for consideration is any merit staff or professional and scientific employee who has demonstrated special qualities in performing their daily tasks. Nomination forms, program guidelines, and a listing of ambassadors are available on the IntraDent under Services > Dental Human Resources > Rewards & Recognition-COD. Page 2 Honda Foundation Grants Program Summary The American Honda Foundation engages in grant making that reflects the basic tenets, beliefs and philosophies of Honda companies, which are characterized by the following qualities: imaginative, creative, youthful, forwardthinking, scientific, humanistic and innovative. We support youth education with a specific focus on the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects in addition to the environment. Limitation Organizations may only submit one request in a 12-month period. This includes colleges and universities with several departments/outreach programs. Award Information The grant range is from $20,000 to $75,000 over a one-year period. Page 3 The College of Dentistry Hands Out Nearly 3,000 Toothbrushes at the Johnson County Fair Several volunteers manned the College of Dentistry booth at the recent Johnson County Fair. Approximately 1,480 children s toothbrushes were handed out, including 210 Hello Kitty toothbrushes. There were also 1,496 adult toothbrushes given away.
