1 Christmas and New Year Public Transport Arrangements 2016/2017 Over Christmas and New Year there are a number of engineering projects on the rail network across the UK. This is includes most valley lines services as well as between Newport and Cardiff. If you are intending to travel by train throughout Christmas and New Year please check before travelling particularly if you need to make a connection. Saturdays Friday 30 December 2016 Trains will run between Ebbw Vale Town and Newport Station to connect with Cardiff to Newport services. Sercice Sercice Saturday New Year's Eve. Saturday 31 December 2016 Trains will run (with early evening finish) between Ebbw Vale Town and Newport Station to connect with Cardiff to Newport services. Ebbw trains will run between Ebbw Vale Town and Newport with bus connections at Pye Corner for Cardiff. New Year's Bank Holiday. Monday 2 January 2017 Trains will run between Ebbw Vale Town and Newport Station to connect with Cardiff to Newport rail replacement bus services.
