Many thanks to Steph, the tutor, and Adult Learning Wales for providing this course Social Group at Chapter Arts Centre Market Road, Canton Mon pm (Except for bank holidays) This is an informal and friendly group which meets in the café area at We leave the centre at 5pm and make our way by foot, car or public transport. The group is supported by a 4Winds worker till 7.30pm. All welcome.

5 Women-only Space Every Wednesday 11am to 1.00 pm This safe and welcoming space provides opportunities for social contact, peer support, emotional support, information and access to resources such as computers and other facilities. We have a 4 week Personal Safety Course beginning 15th August (see inside for further details) and let a worker know if you want to take part. Please note we will be closed on Wednesday 25th July Build confidence in reading and listening and discover new stories and much more. 6 Emergency First Aid Awareness Thursday 12th July 2pm Isobel Jones from the Welsh Ambulance Service will demonstrate basic emergency first aid skills Stop Smoking Information Session Tuesday 3rd July at 2.30pm Deb Sugrue from Public Health Wales will talk about help and support available to people who want to stop smoking. Medication Information Session Tuesday 24th July at 2pm Wendy Davies, Chief Pharmacist at Hafan y Coed, will answer any questions or concerns about prescribed medication Smart Phone and Tablet Training Mondays 1-3pm This course will help brush up your skills or develop new skills, working at your own pace. Course dates Mon 2nd July, 9th July and 16th July. Suitable for beginners With thanks to Adult Learning Wales for running this course.

7 Debt Advice Drop-In From 2-4pm on the last Friday of every month, Next drop-in Friday 27th July and Friday 31st August Thanks to Jonathan for facilitating this session. Personal Safety Training For Women Course dates: Wed 15th August pm, 22nd August, 29th August and 5th September. Personal Safety Training For Men & Women Course dates: Tuesdays pm on 7th August, 14th August, 21st Deb from Resolve It will run these workshops which will teach basic strategies on how to stay safe and how to use and develop ways to avoid challenging situations and protect ourselves. Please talk to a worker if you are interested or just turn up on the day! Everyone has the right to feel safe

8 Trip to Insole Court Gardens and Mansion. Tuesday 17th July We will be meeting at 4Winds at 12.30pm and be travelling by bus. We will visiting for a walk around the beautiful gardens before going for coffee at the Old Pottery Shed. Asda Leckwith Event to Celebrate 70 years of the NHS Thursday 5th July at 12pm We have been invited by Asda to a celebration of the 70th birthday of the NHS. Asda will provide refreshments and drinks, free of charge, in the café of their Leckwith store. If you want to attend this event please let a 4Winds worker know. 9 Day Trip Swansea and Caswell Bay Monday 20th August Meeting at Customhouse Street at 10.15am to catch 10.26am X10 bus. We will be travelling by bus to central Swansea and, weather permitting visiting the Mumbles and Caswell Bay beach Please let a worker know if you are interested. Centre will be open as usual 1-5pm Thank you to everyone who attended the 4winds mini break this year. We have had some lovely feedback and wanted to highlight the contribution of all who attended to the success of the weekend. Another successful holiday!

Thurs 5th July Walk and coffee in the bay Thurs 2nd August Bowling At VUE Please note that the centre will close at 5pm when an evening activity is taking place when we will make our way there from the centre 4Winds is working with Cardiff Food Bank/Trussell Trust and can issue vouchers which can be exchanged for up to five days worth of food which can be collected at many local halls, churches and community centres. 12 We use fair trade tea, co coffee and sugar at the centre. Greetings St Benedicts Day,Catholic. Obon, Buddhist/Shinto. Lammas/Harvest Festival. Pagan/Christian. Eid al Adha, Islam. Krishna Janmashtami, Hindu. At the 4Winds we have a number of resources which all are welcome to use. Amongst these are information on a wide range of local services, a small lending library, a fully equipped kitchen (including a bread maker), art and craft materials and sewing machines. We also have a resource/meeting room which is available for use by groups or individuals. Computers are available to use free of charge and free Wi-Fi is available..
