PROGRAM Bob Pasquarelli explained our custom of interclubs, which is when 4 or more members visit another Kiwanis Club s event. The purpose is fellowship with other club members, and sharing ideas for fundraisers and community service projects. If a club visits every other club in the division during the same year, it is called a Round Robin, and is recognized. Interclubs are fun!

HAPPY DOLLARS $ Kevin Sarsfield: Phyllis and I had a wonderful time on the north shore of Cape Cod, the weather was picture perfect, and we shared a 4 lb lobster!

4 HAPPY DOLLARS $ Kevin Sarsfield: Phyllis and I had a wonderful time on the north shore of Cape Cod, the weather was picture perfect, and we shared a 4 lb lobster! Also, our oldest son Todd has become engaged to a lovely young lady from Massachusetts! $ Eve Ward: I witnessed the spectacle of Rolling Thunder, a mass of motorcycles at the Veterans Memorial to benefit the disabled veteran s new home. Two aerial ladder fire trucks raised a huge flag before the service, and Botsy opened his shop for coffee and restrooms! $ Skip Patton: Despite the Red Sox s inability to win a game, we had a great day at Fenway with several good friends! $ Janet Malecki: And I was one of them! $ Bob Loveridge: I m happy for the possibility of three new members, and hope that they will come back despite what they witnessed here tonight! $ Jim Colabelli: I m sorry I missed the Town s Bicentennial.we were spending a wonderful weekend in Misquamicut, RI. But I ll be at the next one! Also we converted our deck to a 3 season room/porch, and renovated the bathroom at the same time. Our daughter and her family visited for the weekend! $ Barb Fioravanti: Gene and I celebrated our 47 th wedding anniversary, AND my plane passed its annual inspection! $ Joe Behson: I am hoping that Craig, Sean, and Rose will be our next three members! $ Mike Gates: Shelley and I visited lots of bears in Yellowstone Park; Wyoming is now the 46 th state we ve visited still missing AK, OK, WI, & IA! While in Montana we got to shoot a machine gun and other firearms! $ Jean Hamlin: I worked at this month s spaghetti dinner and had lots of fun. Felt young again I used to be a waitress years ago! $ Bill Whipple: Our daughter Susan flew from Milwaukee to Atlanta, where she was delayed 2 hours by the big storm, but finally arrived safely in Panama City! Our son Scott and his wife Mira have arrived safely at their new duty station in Okinawa guess that will be our next year s trip! $ John Mulligan: We spent 4 days in Williamsburg, VA and had a great time! $ George Raneri: I m very happy to be back among so many good friends! $ Sean Chamberlain: Our new restaurant, the Water Wheel, is open for all meals, and we hope you ll all come in! $ Pat Lane: I worked yesterday with Ron at the Food Trailer in Betty s place, and was invited there for dinner afterward! To all our prospective members, I hope you have as much fun as we do here! DOOR PRIZE--none tonight! 50/50 for $25 was won by President-designate Mike Gates! MEGA 50/50 grew to $523.50, and when John Brownrigg s ticket was pulled, he recruited Eve again to choose for him. Didn t work, though, because she pulled the 3 of Hearts!

HIGHLIGHTS OF COMMITTEE REPORTS for August Community Services (Brownrigg/Ginther): signs used 5x, unloaded food Doors of Hope x2, members participated in Town Bicentennial Celebration, supported Make A Wish Interclubs (Pasquarelli): 6 members attended Division Council at Castleton Membership & Education (Behson): 1 new member Public Relations (Gates): various ads for monthly pasta dinners Social (Ward): Steak & Lobster Roast Sponsored Youth (Fioravanti/Mulligan): attended Key Club meeting, Key Club held a kids carnival at Hoag s Corners Ways & Means (Gates): 13 Town Council members and major sponsors were dinner guests for a thank you presentation Youth Services (Tysiak): School supplies were given to needy elementary and middle school students for the new school year

6 OLD BUSINESS Consideration of donation toward Brian Glasser s medical expenses was again tabled due to lack of specific information. NEW BUSINESS 1. The Secretary was authorized to renew the Club Management System software agreement. 2. Dues update: 3 resignations accepted; 1 in arrears suspended, to be terminated if not paid by September Tent (large) use request approved for President Pat Lane for October 20 th. 4. Donation of $200 approved to Youth Soccer League. 5. Suggestion of donation toward one wheelchair to be used in the new Senior Van was NOT approved. Clients needing wheelchairs have their own. 6. Membership recommendations were approved for Rose Metchick, sponsored by Loveridge; Sean Chamberlain, sponsored by Behson; and Craig Daniels, sponsored by Ginther. For Consideration at the next Board meeting: Funding request from the Town referred to Youth Services (Tysiak) for recommendation. DIVISION: Next Council meeting Dec 6 th at Rensselaer; Jan 28 th at Sand Lake DISTRICT: 2013 Convention to be at Rochester Institute of Technology s Inn & Conference Center (formerly Marriott at Henrietta) INTERNATIONAL: Online registration is now open for the 2013 Convention in Vancouver at $185. The 2014 Convention is to be held in Macao, China. BILLS: Payment authorized.
