3 Alberta Deaf Pickleball Club Update Hello Pickleballers, Four members of Alberta Deaf Pickleball Club (Rob Cundy, Bruce Gibson, Nola Johnson and Amy Seiberlich) plus one player from Vancouver (Tim Mallach) participated in the Canadian National Pickleball Championships in Kelowna on July 6 to 8. There were about 600 players from all over Canada and USA. Awesome weather and the tournament went smoothly with 28 pickleball courts. A big congratulations to Bruce Gibson who won the silver medal in Men s 3.0 doubles. If you want to register for 2019 Canadian National Pickleball Championships in Kelowna the first weekend in July, you need to register quickly at a certain time (TBA). The registration opened at 10 a.m. on March 1, 2018 and it was full in 4 minutes! 4 U21 World Deaf Basketball Championships The Canadian U21 Deaf Basketball team played hard at the World Championships in Washington, DC, USA at Gallaudet University from July 5 to 15. Game Results: Poland (76) vs Canada (64) Canada (64) vs Greece (59) Japan (102) vs Canada (44) Spain (89) vs Canada (30) Quarterfinal Results: USA (126) vs Canada (23) Final Results: Ukraine (77) vs Canada (67) Canada came in 7 th out of 10 teams.
