1 President s Message President s message ADSA hosted a special retreat in Banff, AB on October 19-21, It was VERY successful retreat for all 6 organizations (AAD, ACSD, ADSA, ASDB, CAD, and EAD). Presidents and their board were present for a great leadership workshop and a teambuilding challenge adventure. All of us really enjoyed being together. Chris Kenopic, Donald Prong, and Ryan Commerson were there working together in teaming up to present the leadership workshop. For 2018 Canada Deaf Darts Championship (CDDC) in Edmonton on November 7-10, 2018, wishing Alberta Dart players a wonderful, successful and enjoyable CDDC event and know you will represent Alberta with Pride and Distinction. 3 Autumn Zero Zero Two Tournament What a successful tournament! Lots of positive compliments from players and fans! they really enjoyed the tournament and the great food. Thank you to my awesome committees for their wonderful help. We had 25 deaf players and 15 hearing players. It was a successful run on our first Calgary pickleball tournament at Bowness Community Centre on October 13 and 14. 4 Working Together Retreat On October 19 to 21, ADSA was proud to host the Working Together Retreat where 6 organizations got together in Banff to work towards one common goal: the Deaf community. We had three wonderful facilitators that helped make the weekend a success: Ryan Commerson from Colorado, Chris Kenopic and Donald Prong, both from Ontario. The organizations involved were Alberta Deaf Sports Association, Alberta Association of the Deaf, Edmonton Association of the Deaf, Calgary Association of the Deaf, Alberta Cultural Society of the Deaf, and Alberta Society of the Deaf Blind. Thank you to all those who supported this retreat. 7 2020 Canada Deaf Games Survey As most of you already know, ADSA is proud to be hosting the 2020 Canada Deaf Games in Edmonton, Alberta. We are currently checking all over Canada to get a better sense of what sports should be featured at 2020 CDG. This survey is exclusively for the Canadian Deaf sports community.
