Aqua Pilates: is class is designed to help you develop core strength and flexibility with the low impact benefits of water. is class utilizes shallow rebound work, stretches, and strength work to create a challenging workout program based in the Pilates Method. Excellent for participants with joint and back issues, and those who want to improve posture and core strength. Aqua Total Fit delivers a high energy atmosphere with cardio, strength training, core work and stretching. Ballet: Learn the techniques of ballet while improving your core, posture and grace of movement. is class focuses on strength, alignment, and performance. is class will start with 20 minutes at the barre, then to the center of the room for floor work. Halsted Street Intermediate Tango: Our new class Intermediate Tango is close embrace milongero style, a continuation of technique and musicality but at a much faster paced rhythm and the elements are those that are danced in most dance halls in Buenos Aires. TANG 14 Tango: Is poor coordination & rhythm stopping you from dancing? Learning to dance does not have to be a chore with this fun and easy approach to dance. Remember, if you can walk & count to 8, then you can Tango! is course will cover the basics of the Argentine Tango. Halsted Street Tennis Instruction Advanced Tennis Instruction: is class is designed as a drill group for players with solid strokes but want to increase their power and consistency on groundstrokes and power and placements of serves. Play Group Tennis: Participants need to know the rules of tennis, have proper strokes and ability to move. ey are paired with partners of equal ability for playing games. Beginning/Intermediate Tennis Instruction: is class is designed for individuals who have never taken tennis lessons but want to develop their basic skills with an emphasis on court movement and footwork. Summer Session I: June 6-July 26 (no class July 4 & 5) Summer Session II: August 1-September 13 Small Group Personal Training TRX NE! Join our certified personal trainers in a fast paced, total body bootcamp utilizing TRX suspension trainers, kettlebells, medicine balls and more! Using the Synrgy 360 equipment, circuit training stations will be set up using TRX, kettlebells, medicine balls, boxing, battle ropes, body weight training and more. ese workouts are designed to keep you engaged as well as successful in reaching your fitness goals. Pure Raks is for those women who want to be fit, sexy and classy. You can start at any age, with no prior dance experience. Enhance your self-esteem while creating an hour-glass shape! Learn exciting movements for your hips, torso and arms. Build fabulous abs and tone your core. It's time to put the "you" into unique! Class content changes and inspires you with a variety of topics, including introduction to Arabic rhythms, more challenging finger cymbal patterns, floorwork, veil, Saidi and stick dance. No class July 14 & July 21. Baton-jutsu-Baton-jutsu is ju-jutsu utilizing a baton or short staff of approximately 2' in length. A baton, which may be fashioned from any commonly available materials, magnifies and expands the effectiveness of standard ju-jutsu techniques thus providing a defensive advantage in challenging situations. No prior experience is necessary. Beginner, as well as current ju-jutsu students, are welcome. If you think that yoga isn t for you, you haven t tried Yoga Fundamentals. You will learn the fundamentals of yoga including proper alignment, variations and modifications so you will be able to do the poses with comfort and safely. You will also learn breathing techniques that will help you focus your attention and bring you into a deeper yoga practice. No class on July 6. 7 Program Policies Classes not meeting the minimum requirement of participants will be cancelled. You will be notified by if the class is canceled. Please be sure to update your address in your online registration account. Refunds will ONLY be issued for classes cancelled due to low participation or for a doctor documented illness or injury. Late registrations will be accepted into a class that is running; however, pro-rates for missed classes will not be honored. People under the age of 18 cannot participate in ANY UIC Campus Recreation Group Fitness Session classes or Instructional Programs. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to be present during class instruction. Try it free classes are on a first come first serve basis. Please visit our website at rec.uic.edu to review a complete copy of our policies. I-CARD POLICY All members participating in UIC Campus Recreation programs are required to show a valid I-Card upon entrance to our facilities. Any person who fails to show their I-Card will be required to pay the daily guest admission to the facility. Non-members are required to check at the Membership Service Desk. Please make sure to have a government issued PHOTO ID. Registration Information STEP 1: Visit - Click on the REGISTRATIONS icon on the right hand side of the screen STEP 2: Click on the REGISTER ONLINE icon on the left side of the screen STEP 3: Creating your account Students & Members Select the FORGOT PASSORD/ CREATE LOGINS? CLICK HERE Link Enter your address. Please make sure to use the address that is on file with Membership Services. You may be asked for your member number (UIN), which can be located on your I-card. An will be sent to you with a user name and password; this is what you will use to log-in. After logging in with the initial assigned user name and password, you will be prompted to choose a new user name or password. is is what you will use to log-in going forward. Be sure to include your address. You must enter your birthdate; if you fail to do so, the system will read you as zero years old and ineligible to register for many classes. You will be prompted to create a user name and password. After receiving confirmation of your account, you will be able to log-in with your new user name. STEP 4: Log in Click on the icon that looks like a HOME in the top left corner of the screen Click on PROGRAM REGISTRATIONS picture Select the facility that your class will be taking place at in the dropdown box in the upper left hand side To view class, click on the picture or click SELECT Click on a course and VIE PROGRAMS ; a description, class times and cost will be displayed Select ADD TO CART Read the waiver and check the accept box, then hit continue Select continue to cart Payment summary screen will appear Enter payment information Confirm the for the receipt to be sent and a second if entered Select submit payment After payment is processed a receipt will appear on your screen
