WINTER Naples Area Alumnae Chapter Delta Delta Delta Founders Day On November 12 we celebrated the 128th anniversary of Tri Delta and the 30th anniversary of the founding of our Naples Area Alumnae Chapter. Seven past Carol Poston President presidents including a charter member of our chapter, Virginia Newman, were in attendance. Founders Day was held at Windstar on Naples Bay and began with a short video of our founders and clips of the great times we shared during the season. Thanks to Dotti Keagy, Event Chair, and her committee including Jaime Bollinger, Melissa Hansen, Carol Poston and Iva Sokolic we raised over $63,000 for St. Jude. 2 Inaugural Naples Holiday Soirée Benefiting St. Jude Raises More than $63,000! Thanks to the support and generosity of 127 attendees at The Inaugural Naples Holiday Soirée Benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (including our five Tri Delta alumnae committee members, distinguished sponsors, Naples Area Tri Delta Alumnae Chapter members and their spouses/guests, and many community donors), we raised more than $63,000 for the kids of St. Jude through ticket sales, sponsorships, live and silent auctions, Give to Live and private donations! Emceed by Jennifer Stacy, WINK News Morning Anchor (who was fabulous), the event was held on December 1st at the beautiful Club at Olde Cypress. Cocktails and dinner were deemed incredible by all attendees, and even senior St. Jude representatives said it was one of the best events they had ever attended! 3 Delta Pearls Join us for our first Delta Pearls event at Paradise Wine on Tuesday, January 17, at 5:00 pm for fun and camaraderie. If there is interest we will schedule additional Pearls events in February through May. Please rsvp to Niki Thompson at by January 16 if you plan to attend. If you are a new member of our alumnae chapter, we will have a sign on our table so you can find us or simply follow the laughter. Niki will be happy to collect any toiletries, etc. you can bring for the Women s Shelter. MARCO DELTAS On Thursday, January 19 at 11:30 the Marco Deltas are hosting a luncheon at the beautiful Island Country Club. This is always a great event and there is wonderful shopping near by. Alumnae enjoying lunch at the Island Country Club in January, We can order from the menu and pay Mary Harris Barry, our hostess, with cash or a check. 4 Chinese Auction/Fashion Show/Luncheon: Saturday, February 11 at Bayside Seafood Bar & Grill 11:30 AM Our most popular event, will be held at the beautiful Bayside Seafood Grill at Venetian Village. Enjoy a delightful luncheon with informal modeling by the Village s most fashionable shops. Our 9th annual Chinese Auction benefits Tri Delta Scholarship Fund for Epsilon Alpha Chapter collegiates. Amanda Pellicione & Margo Bonvino, our auctioneers extraordinaire, are chairing this event and encourage all of us to provide auction items. You can bring your items to the Delta Pearls or Marco Deltas events or contact Amanda or Margo and they will arrange to pick up your items. 5 Pansy Brunch: Saturday, April 8 at The Vineyards Country Club 11:30 AM Pansy Brunch will be our last formal event of the year. Please join us as we welcome our FGCU graduating seniors into alumnae membership, install our new officers, award scholarships to FGCU outstanding collegians and play Pansy Palooka to raise funds for the Tri Delta Foundation. Chyrs Hyde, a member of the Foundation s Board of Directors will be our guest speaker. She will share examples of the Foundation assisting its members in every possible way by raising funds to provide under graduate and graduate scholarship; helping members in dire financial need; and supporting the Fraternity s educational and leadership initiatives. Thus, the Foundation helps women live, learn and lead with Purpose, for a lifetime. At Convention 2016, three alumnae were honored as Women of Achievement. Dr. Sadighi is a recipient of how educational scholarships help our sisters change the world in amazing ways. The Women of Achievement are pictured below right (L-R): Dr. Zsila Sadighi (Texas A&M) is a pediatric neurologist and pediatric neuro-oncologist at St. Jude Children s Research Hospital and works in in the Tri Delta funded C Clinic. Sheila Thompson & Georgia Grant present scholastic achievement Circle Degree 2016 Kristen Hadeed (Florida) founded one of Florida s largest, independently owned cleaning services, Student Maid, which now employs over 500 people. Representative Michelle Lujan Grisham (New Mexico) is serving her second term representing New Mexico s 1st Congressional District. Page 5 of 6
