New research in brain, mind, and behavior relationships in PTSD will be presented informing novel behavioral and pharmacological treatments. TARGET AUDIENCE Physicians Psychiatrists Psychologists Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Nurses Allied Health Professional EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES An attendee completing this course should be able to discuss: List key advances in diagnosing and treating PTSD Describe recent advances in basic science research on learning and unlearning conditioned fear and how they inform novel treatments of PTSD Describe concepts in management of PTSDrelated problems including anger, substance abuse, depression, and stressrelated medical problems. ACCREDITATION The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UCSF designates this educational activity for a maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
