The Resort at Squaw Creek North Lake Tahoe, CA TARGET AUDIENCE: The intended audience is practicing physicians and nurses in the areas of internal medicine including medical, surgical, and radiation oncology, pulmonology, and family practice. The conference is designed as a three-day course, with morning and evening sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This year's sessions will include a review new advances in the treatment, early detection and prevention of breast, endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematologic, and lung cancers, as well as updates in translational science. The program is focused on clinical management and issues facing the busy practicing community internist, oncologist, radiation oncologist, and surgeon. Each session will have one invited guest faculty, two UCSF Faculty, and two case presentations by community physicians, highlighting diagnostic and treatment dilemmas faced in daily practice. Full CME credit is being offered through the University of California, San Francisco. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to: Identify the latest clinical management of patients with breast, endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematologic, and lung cancers. Identify the chemotherapeutic and radiation therapy options for patients with breast, endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematologic, and lung cancers. Understand the indications for surgical intervention in patients with breast, endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematologic, and lung cancers. Identify early detection methods for breast, endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematologic, and lung cancers. Verbalize a general understanding of the latest discoveries in the translational science related to breast, endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematologic, and lung cancers. Identify emerging therapies available to patients with breast, endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematologic, and lung cancers. The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
