2 Foundation Overview The White Knight Foundation (TWKF) is a not-for-profit organisation providing financial and emotional support to victims and their families affected by youth violence, as well as providing educational programs to the community on the impacts of random and unprovoked acts of violence. The foundation was established in 2013 as a result of a vicious and unprovoked attack on Sydney teenager Liam Knight. Liam was at a gate-crashed party where a 2.8m long steel pole was thrown by a perpetrator and subsequently pierced Liam through his skull. Only 17 years of age at the time, Liam was extremely fortunate to survive this horrific incident. He now currently continues to endure the long road to rehabilitation and recovery. Through experiencing the ordeal Liam suffered, it was evident that there are many other victims who need external support in order to assist with their recovery. The primary function of the Foundation is to raise vital funds to assist young victims and their families on their path to recovery, whilst also educating and increasing awareness of the outcomes and effects these random, unprovoked acts of violence can have, with a particular emphasis on the dangers of gate-crashing and teenage recklessness. The White Knight Foundation relies on the generosity of both the community and corporate partners in order to continue to make a difference in the lives of the young victims and their families. Your support will enable us to continue to assist victims and provide ongoing educational programs in the wider community.
