2 mad ball celebrating turning 80 years young TO CELEBRATE 80 YEARS OF SERVICE, PCYC NSW IS HOSTING AN EXCLUSIVE GALA DINNER TO SHOWCASE OUR YOUTH PROGRAMS, AND TO CELEBRATE THE POSITIVE IMPACT WE HAVE MADE TO THE COMMUNITY. PCYC works with the Police and community to empower young people to reach their potential. Across the network of 65 clubs, PCYC NSW delivers an extensive range of innovative, life enriching, fun, safe and supervised programs and activities to almost 100,000 members across the state. PCYC are proud to support the work of the NSW Police Force Youth Command Officers in their case management of young offenders, and provide resources to assist their delivery of meaningful crime prevention programs. Our mission is to get young people active in life, work with them to develop their skills, character and leadership and reduce and prevent crime by, and against, young people. PCYC is looking to build on its long history of community service with a renewed focus on the engagement and development of young people as we prepare for our 80th year and beyond. As a registered charity, PCYC NSW relies on the generous support of beneficiaries and sponsors to develop enhanced programs to get youth active in life, build community, and prevent youth crime. PCYC invites you to support this auspicious occasion through your involvement as a sponsor, donor or guest. MAD Ball is about raising money and awareness for PCYC programs to improve the life opportunities of young people in NSW. Your generous contribution to this stellar event will directly support our efforts in assisting young people to reach their potential. The MAD Ball is being held at the prestigious Macquarie Group, Level 10, 50 Martin Place, Sydney on Friday, 10 November Channel 7 s news presenter Samantha Armytage will be the host for the evening in the presence of the Governor of New South Wales and patron of PCYC NSW, His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret d) accompanied by his wife Mrs Linda Hurley. The night promises to be a great networking opportunity with key industry and political figures invited to attend along with business and community leaders from across NSW. Guests will be treated to an elegant four-course fine dining experience with wines from the renowned Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley and entertainment by talented PCYC youth, concluding with a headlining act. PCYC would be delighted for you to come on board and become a sponsor. This document outlines how you may be involved in both a large and small capacity. The incredible ongoing support of the community helps us to continually enhance our supportive and innovative programs to the youth of today, for the future of tomorrow. We look forward to your involvement. Dominic Teakle PCYC NSW CEO PCYC MAD BALL SPONSORSHIP & DONATIONS 2

7 make a Difference make a Donation NATIONS OF ORIGIN - ABORIGINAL ENGAGEMENT Nations of Origin promotes reconciliation within communities by engaging Aboriginal and non-aboriginal youth through a multifaceted sport, education and cultural identity program. PCYC designed this program in consultation with Aboriginal communities and young people across NSW. This unique concept is a practical initiative contributing to Closing the Gap and increasing education attendance, whilst also providing an avenue for young Aboriginal people to explore their cultural identities. Now in its sixth year, this event represents the largest single gathering of indigenous youth in Australia. This year s Nations of Origin was held in the Hunter Region during the July school holidays and featured knockout events in rugby league 7s, five-a-side football and netball. In total the event involved more than 1,000 young people aged between 13 and 16, representing 26 Aboriginal nations from throughout NSW. Criteria for participation stipulates young people must have an 80 per cent attendance at school, attend weekly training and zero tolerance to criminal activity. $5,000 Will help get a team of 10 Indigenous and Non-Indigenous young people, plus coach and manager to Nations of Origin. $400,000 Will cover the entire cost to run the 3 day tournament. This will contribute to your companies Reconciliation Action Plan. A full year of naming rights at Nations of Origin. An opportunity for your company to present at Nations of Origin. 8 make a Difference make a Donation PCYC BLUE STAR CITIZENSHIP AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS The Blue Star Leadership and Citizenship programs are PCYC s pinnacle leadership programs for young people aged years. One of our core beliefs is that great communities are made up of great citizens and Blue Star aims to equip young people to be the best citizen they can be. These programs foster a learning culture that promotes behavioural, emotional and cognitive engagement. Blue Star Leadership Focuses on developing and creating leaders of the future. It gives young people practical, real-life skills that they can apply to work, family and their community. This year long program involves attending three camps, Certificate 1 in Volunteering, first aid training and Bronze achievement in Duke of Edinburgh. Blue Star Citizenship Is the first tier of our leadership development. This five-month program involves two four-day camps, volunteering opportunities at their local PCYC club, training modules towards Certificate 1 in volunteering, first aid certificate and the Duke of Edinburgh bronze award. $3,000 Per young person to participate in Blue Star. $45,000 For 15 young people to participate in Blue Star. $200,000 To cover the full cost of the Blue Star Program. 9 make a Difference make a Donation TARGETED POLICE PROGRAMS Police officers stationed at PCYC clubs provide targeted youth crime reduction and prevention through case management of young people and community-based policing programs. These officers have received many accolades over the years, but it is their positive interaction and role modelling that has had the greatest impact on the young people they work with. Targeted Police programs provide genuine care and compassion to promote positive pathways away from a potential life of crime through innovative programs and mentoring. This has seen many tough lives turned around forever. Example Kidds Say No : Senior Constable Danny Kidd from PCYC Belmore is taking action to educate young people through an innovative eight-week program he has developed called KIDDS SAY NO. This is a ground-breaking police program aimed at raising awareness about domestic violence issues and the impacts these have on families and wider community. Support is needed to fund these targeted crime prevention and reduction initiatives to improve safety in the community. $5,000 Will cover the cost of one targeted Police program. $30,000 Will cover six targeted Police programs and help divert young people from a life of crime, and to educate them to prevent crime. A full year of naming rights for that particular Police program. An opportunity for your company to present at that particular Police program. All other Foundation sponsor benefits. (*excluding some relevant to the Gala Dinner) PCYC MAD BALL SPONSORSHIP & DONATIONS 9
10 make a Difference make a Donation SPORT AND LIFESTYLE PROGRAMS REAL (Respect, Education, Assertive Leaders) Anti truancy early morning breakfast program. REAL is an early intervention crime prevention and school engagement program that encourages young people to make positive lifestyle choices. The program begins with a 6am pickup from their home, followed by a one-hour session of boxing for fitness, where young people train alongside Police, community mentors and volunteers three times per week. This interaction makes a great impact in participants lives as it improves community engagement, relationships, school attendance as they are also dropped off at school, while reducing a young person s desire to be involved in anti-social conduct or truancy. REAL helps young people to recognise their selfdiscipline, it instills confidence, increases self-esteem and assists in addressing a range of issues which are contributing to their disengagement from school. For many young people, their attendance at the program guarantees they eat a proper meal before attending school, arrive clean and fresh and have a packed lunch to sustain their learning. It costs approximately $25 per child per day (including a hygiene kit) to participate in one of our Police programs, specifically focusing on assisting at-risk youth and young offenders to re-engage with education. $5,000 Will cover the cost of one young person for an entire year. $50,000 Will cover the cost of 10 youth for an entire year. A full year of naming rights for REAL. An opportunity for your company to participate in REAL. All other Foundation sponsor benefits. (*excluding some relevant to the Gala Dinner) PCYC MAD BALL SPONSORSHIP & DONATIONS 10
11 VISIT A CLUB pcycnsw.org.au make a Difference make a Donation ASSET REPLACEMENT - TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS A major concern for PCYC is our ageing fleet of buses and vehicles across the network. Transportation is critical to ensure young people are able to be involved in PCYC and community activities. The Police also require transport to conduct targeted programs, and for their case management of young offenders. Modern, safe and reliable transportation is essential to ensure the continuation and growth of current programs, and reducing geographical and social isolation. $42,000 For a 7-seater mini-van. Permanent branding of your company logo for the life of the vehicle. Vehicle sponsorship will entail co-branding to promote the generous support of our sponsor. $56,000 For a 12-seater bus. Permanent branding of your company logo for the life of the vehicle. All other Foundation sponsor benefits. (*excluding some relevant to the Gala Dinner) PCYC MAD BALL SPONSORSHIP & DONATIONS 11
