5 PRESIDENT S NOTES March 2010 Club News Well, what a success was our IWD lunch! We had a wonderful guest speaker who was entertaining as well as giving us a few things to think about. The audience really warmed to Hugh Lunn. The lunch, too, was great; no complaints this time! And the table decorations were beautiful. Many thanks to Gerry and her committee of hard workers who put the whole day together. We wait impatiently to hear a full report from Gerry and Treasurer Joan about the day. We have a guest speaker this month: Doreen Wendt-Weir whose topic, from memory,deals with, amongst other things, about sex in the seventies, At the March meeting,the Nominating Committee will present its report. Do consider the offer if anyone on the Committee has approached. I know that me second stint as President was so much easier than the first time and I don t think it was the experience. Being able to has been a tremendous boom and lightened the load considerably. So, give it a go! We have BYF coming up soon so that Committee will be looking for workers as well as the catering for the Motorcycle Club and workers for the Cancer Council walk. Ellen will be giving more information about the proposed visit to the sheep cheese farm. Thank you for your patience at the February meeting. We had so much to get through. This meeting promises to be less taxing. A reminder that the Committee meetings start at 5.45 and the general meeting at This allows us to have a hot dinner. And this is the last one before the AGM, but who s counting? See you then. Jane Social morning tea at 'Towri'. It's a Sheep Cheese Factory, and is on Saville Road, (Off Brooklands Road, Gleneagle). Carol Davidson is our host. Cost is $18, which includes a tour of the factory, cheese platter, tea and coffee. Date: Saturday 27th March, at 10am.
